Whatever i can get my hands on!
Hey everyone, just bought a lux meter for my LED lights. Just wondering what my readings should be for optimal growth? So I can find the right distance for the ladies.

hmm... @BigSm0 might be able to tell you the answer to that one mate. only person i can think of. how much it cost for one of them? would be a handy bit of kit to have like.

hmm just had a look. really thought that would be an expensive one but surprisingly cheap. i may have to invest in one of those. cheers buddy : )

yeah i thought that wouldve been a pretty specialist item sort of thing. guess not though. mostly 30-120 i seen so id imagine anythin over 60 quid should be pretty legitamit. id avoid the cheaper ones. went through 4 cheap ph meters before i finally learned lol.

Most meters you will buy or find really don’t have a common denominator. In this I mean optimal lux mainly. Lux is easily converted to par which is a more standardized measurement. https://www.apogeeinstruments.com/conversion-ppf-to-lux/
Spectrum playes a bigger role than light output or wattage as far as most meters are concerned. A 20 watt red light bulb may show a higher lux than a 30 watt blue light bulb.

I know that this didn’t help much but what I can tell you is use the lux meter to help find dark spots or gets rough idea on which number fits you. A few grows with it is more helpful than me spitting out a number.

In your spare time google the inverse square law and take measurements at different heights. You will be amazed on how much these numbers drop inch by inch.

Hope it helps and thanks for the tag @EvilScotsman
