Really love ❤️ my edibles!
Question about using this
could be added for its mineral content to a living soil mix? Same as DE or is this another material altogether?
And if so, how much per liter of soil?
Just a thought……?

well you can use it, but they say that the mineral content may vary, so it is not a guaranteed source of things, but loess itself is a nice powder for the plants. You also have some additions and i guess you may get that stuff cheaper. perhaps look at this - patent how they make their stuff. - loess is just lots of silica, chalk and other minerals, sometimes too much iron or sulfate. If you want to add more opportunity to keep water, Ca or silika, you can take this. But have an airy basis. If the loess becomes too dense, it will bake together and if it stays ontop, it may make the top hydrophobic.
For a living soil this can provide what you want - bacteria help.
Buying for the purpose, I wouldn't...if you want to get rid of the stuff and have no other (medical) purpose, you can use it if it fits to your recipe.

Cheers!

just look at "buy loess" - it's much cheaper..therefore forget luvos and go for some other loess

My impressions on this stuff is that it is edible, so there is some purity consistency and testing that takes place before it can be sold for human consumption. To me that’s a plus! I am not too worried about spending a few extra bucks for a quality product for my living soil, hence for my end product….good buds. I’m just not sure of the amount…I think 5% (550 mg per 11 liter) mixed in very well with your other ingredients, might be a starting point, and see how the plants react. This may only help during the flowering stage? Not sure? But if it’s in the mix, true, there is no turning back, your stuck with it in the soil the whole grow cycle. And you may be able to spread it on the surface of the soil as the grow proceeds, helping with insect problems.
I think I will include it with my next living soil recipe (would really be open to organic DIY living soil recipes from other folks out there!!! Please)
I couldn’t find anything meaningful from the google link? Or am I missing something?

And you may be able to spread it on the surface

that's exactly what I wouldn't do as it tends to "seal" the surface making it a little harder to take up the water, until completely moist. Decent slow handwatering would be the thing - automated topfeeding would be more uneasy because of the (after top applying the luvos ) hydrophobic surface.
So thus I think mixing it in would be fine, sprinkeling on top may be suboptimal.

DE is derived from the fossilized remains of diatoms(a type of algae) that has silica as it's primary component with a small amount of trace minerals, and iron oxide. The Luvos healing earth appears to be very similar.

Do Not use it as a top dressing, it will become a hard hydrophobic mass on top. I use DE and add it from the very beginning when I make up my living soil. I use 1/8 cup for every gallon of soil I make. This is also a great anti-fungus gnat admendment, the sharp edges of the micro crystals remove the outer coating of the larvae and they die and the Luvos should do the same.

Thanks for the info guys, yes I think it will be a good idea to test this out at this ratio
I use 1/8 cup for every gallon of soil I make.
