Hi guys im growing two royal dwarf in john innes no3 compost and peat my plants are only just over a week old and the compost +peat says it feeds for up to five weeks but my ph level is between 2-3 ive gone and got some garden lime but wasnt sure weather to put it in yet and if i should how much?
:toke:

:smokebuds:Wow,your runoff is 2-3 that as low as i have ever heard.I personally use ph up or down from grow store, I find it works a lot faster than lime.Someone else will have to tell you how much to use or check out the nute sec in our forum front pages

id check your meter innes should be about 6.0

doesnt sounds right seems a hell of a lot too low is your meter working properly?

By the sounds of it my meter aint reading right which is anoying i only got it a week ago i will get another one and check again before i start adding anything cheers guys

ph of 2-3? that would definitely kill the plants.

does seem like it might be the tester.

plants being 1 week old? -- you should be able to transplant to a different container.

make sure you add some of that lime in the soil for stabilization.

i used dolomite lime @ 1tbsp per gallon.

you might not need a new meter if you have any buffer solutions (for calibration). If you know what the meter reads for e.g. pH 5 and pH 7 then you shoudl be able to work out what pH your soil is from your readings, although it's perhaps not ideal.

The ph meter i have is one that doesnt require battrys and has two long prongs one silver and one copper it also messures mosture which it messure correctly so its probaly my meter. And namvet said its the lowest he had ever seen and its probaly the lowest most people have seen so im ether the most unlucky grower ever or its my meter lol
