Little gnats!!!

Unless you see damage, the 'gnats' are probably not eating the plant leaves or buds, and your main concern should be the eggs/larvae in your medium/soil eating the plant roots. For that you need to use a Bt bacteria/toxin 'natural' insecticide, perhaps available locally as mosquito dunks, or products such as Captain Jack's Deadbug or Microbe-Lift BMC, what I use and recommend.

I put a mosquito dunk in my water bucket and use yellow sticky traps it keeps it under control but they're hard to totally get rid of

Lots of things you can do, and they tend to work best all at once. Catch it early or prevent is the best way to go.

This video covers many of the most common techniques, but I would add in a chemical treatment as well if not in flower.

I was using HF too and noticed them. I saw them the day I opened the bag and thought, nah just a coincidence. Then after I planted my seeds I started noticing them more, especial if I scratched the top of the soil. Luckily I’ve been able to put my plants outside in the day time and they seem to have lessens quite a bit. Going forward I will not be using HF again.

It can be any bag from anywhere, especially if it was ever wet.

I bought a bag of Coco this year, and suspect it had brought them into my house so I am taking some early preventative measures after seeing a couple. Luckily I haven't seen anymore for about a week. Up to 6 day life cycle though I believe...

This is one of the reasons I will be buying brick coco from now on. Dehydrated and compacted is better for storage in so many ways, and there is much less chance it carries bugs.
