Hi guys got some auto seedlings mainly indica just spouting their first set of proper leaves under 250W MH for about three or four days should I have them under CFL at this stage or should I carry on as I am? thanks

your all good to use the 250w for seedlings just maybe raise it up a bit till they get a bit bigger when i run auto i like to leave the light higher than normal and let them grow up to the light gives them a bit of a stretch

Id start at aprox. 60cm with MH in open reflector. Youll get it gradualy down to 15-20 in 2-4 weeks (depends on how that strain takes that lowering of lights everytime).. I def dont recommend going lower then 15cm without cooltube/aircooled hood.

Cool thanks, how long would you wait until you flick it up to 400 watt? They have been at 20 cm for about 4 days which is 25c at the centre ones leaf hight, they look healthy. I kept reading people saying it was a waste of electric to have them on MH that early. So was thinking about going to cfl. How long do you give seedlings 24h? I intend on going 20-4 or 18-6. Thanks

Cool thanks, how long would you wait until you flick it up to 400 watt? They have been at 20 cm for about 4 days which is 25c at the centre ones leaf hight, they look healthy. id wait till the 3rd or 4th node to flip it to 400w my thinking would be to have more light but futher away cfls are a waste of power anyways i use them for veg right now and hate them no power in them at all for your lighting id just stick to 20-4 the whole way through i read somewhere once that even if you have your lights on 24hrs the plant will sleep at some point regardless so its technically a waste i dunno how true it is but makes sense to me when it comes to the stretch yes some people dislike the stretch but when i first did autos i followed a old grower on here he used to just hang his light at a set height and let the autos reach up to the lights works really well you get big plants so thats where my thinking comes from

Cool thanks for your answer, lots to learn! This is my third grow. My dad has RSO I make for his cancer. That’s why I’m doing this.
