Indoor Light distance

When measuring your light distance from the plant do you measure from the tallest to or do you measure to where the majority of the leaves are? Are the tops considered the canopy?

I'm sure most folks would consider the top of the plant as the 'top'. If your main stems and cola are getting too close in a small space start bending them << Search LST << If nothing else it is useful knowledge in case you ever start to outgrow space height << see also SCROG grows trained on a mesh.

Generally I measure from top highest part of plant.
