Starting my first auto tent indoor grow. And lights suggestions for a all in one germination veg / flower light? Im a beginner indoor grower so not sure if i will stick with this long term so budget friendly is preferred but want it to be worthwhile. Grateful for suggestions please

I suggest first check out AutoCOBs, including related threads and the manufacturer here on AFN. And then use AutoCOBs as your reference, see if you can find either a better deal on high(er)-quality COBs or also definitely consider high(er)-quality 'quantum boards." Besides specs and performance, the parts used, quality of assembly and post-purchase support are what you should look at.

I would go with with MarsHydro just to get your feet wet. If you decide to do it long term then you can grab something else later if you want.

How big is the tent? This is should really determine what light you get. Your better off spending 50-100 more on the light now so you end up with a reasonable end product. There are many many companies making decent lights these days. @MarshydroTina is always around.

If you don't want to assemble it yourself then @MarsHydro might be a good place to start. The SP-3000 looks like an amazing light.
Goodluck

I would second the mars hydro sp3000. My space was not wide enough to support one.. Went with my second choice which was the spider farmer sf2000.

With your not-so-sure expectation of long term growing, just acquire a t5ho unit for veg...by the time they flower, you'll have decided how much further to dedicate yourself to this hobby.

I am in the same boat. Been researching like crazy right now. Some of the youtube videos and reviews all seem to suggest the mars hydro ts1000 is a great light. Just depends on the size of the tent you are trying to light more than anything from what I've learned. Match your light to your space and how many plants.

I am currently considering the migro 120 array. It's a significant price jump from the mars ts1000. Budget is important. I may end up with the mars light in the end. I saw the spider farmer xx1000 which is almost identical to the mars but more than one online video were quite unfavorable in some quick testing.

First, stick with white leds, don’t bother with blurple.

If you are happy with electrical diy, screw-in leds like mine are roughly half the price of the good budget led grow lights per real watt, and they grow decent weed - I got over 300 grams in my first 2x4 grow with 3 plants.

If wiring diy is not your thing, I second the suggestions for Mars hydro. Just get whichever version @MarshydroTina recommends for your tent size.
Good luck with your decision. :pighug:

The Migro Array is in a league of it's own compared to the other 2 lights listed coming in at around 2.4 PPFD/watt. I would avoid the TS series as its only 1.6 PPFD/watt. It was a good choice early on this year but everyone has moved on to the samsung diodes, and they simply out perform the TS series and the SP250, and they are cheaper. I think the SF is a good 2nd choice @ 1.96 PPFD/watt depending on the price. I've noticed here in Canada the price jumps around like crazy from good deal to bad.
