So I bought a grow kit! As lighting I chose a Mars Hydro II 1200w. Once I had paid for it and it was shipped I got really cold feet about LED in general and Mars Hydro Specifically. I am contemplating sending lights back and getting HPS. HEnce the questions:

What are peoples opinion on flowering with a Mars hydro 1200 light? The store tells me the current ones they have were built with industrial diodes and doesnt have the burn out issue these lights previously had. But when I read grow journals its seems alot of people switch to a HID for flowering . Thoughts?!

Secondly, is this an LED issue in general? IS it an accurate concern?

I dont want to send the lights back as it will cost me time and money. But I dont want to have poor yeilds. Thoughts?

Should be fine bro! You can always upgrade if needed! Check out the mars hydro thread under lighting lots of good info and examples. You have plenty of wattage depending on your tent size.

I use gen 1 marshydro 600w lamp x2. Had then fired over a year, no burnouts no issues. Had a single plant under 1 600w yielded about 7oz off her. Hid will always be best but will also cost more to operate.

Led causes less heat and electric consumption where hid does the opposite. Both are good lights just depends on what you want to do

You might want to check out the Autocob led light at cobshop.net. A user in here builds them and is a sponsor. Great little light. Bright as the sun. No internal fans, so no noise. One Autocob per plant is all you need. I own 6. Lots of growers in here have purchased. There are many threads you can read.

Thank you! I looked at autocob ideas but at that time had a few issues getting some components to build them and didnt want to order them (I didnt like it coming from US) But I have since sourced the missing components

Autocob seem to be the way to go for leds anymore. If i knew about them before I got my leds I woulda just purchased those. However, dont underestimate your light. You can do just fine with it. What kind of growing area/amount of plants will your grow be?
