Hello all,

This is my first grow and I am having some issues with a Mephisto 3BOG. Girls are on day 31 from seed. I can't seem to find information out there on leaves curling Up....only seems to be leaves curling down and/or wilting due to nutrients or heat. I've got Mephisto Walter White (front right) and the back two are Creme de la Chem. They all seem to be doing great except for the scrawny 3BOG (front left). I am growing in my garage and have been struggling a bit with the heat & humidity lately but, for the most part, the canopy is at 28 C/82 F and my RH is %65 to %75. The two bigger gals are drinking a ton right now....almost a gallon a day! Water temps in pot is around 26 to 27 C /80 F which is high from what I've read.

Any thoughts on what the leaf curling may be from?

4x4 Tent
SF4000 (Alibaba equivalent)
RO water
GH Flora Trio, Cal-Mag, Sensizyme all at 50% strength
2 large air stones in each pot
Oscillating floor fan kept on low setting and clip-on above light

@Bellicious :welcome:Welcome to AFN.:welcome: What the pictures are showing is called "Tacoing" it is usually caused by high heat or too much wind or both. I f your fans are blowing directly on the plant just move it to circulate in the tent a bit more. If the tent is too warm >88°F see what you can do to cool it down a bit. It is not serious.

:goodluck:

@Mañ'O'Green thank you! Love this community and people like you willing to lend their knowledge. Actually, just the word 'Tacoing' is what I needed haha now I can find all sorts of info. I was so excited to start growing that I did not think about the environment (garage) and season I was growing in. Spring or Fall the next time around. Cheers

Thank you @St. Tom great to finally be here and nice to meet you! Something I've wanted to do for years...just took a pandemic to make it happen  I'll adjust the fan and see what I can do to bring the heat down. I just ordered an Inkbird controller so that should help.

I don't know @St. Tom I have actually had some dumb questions! You have to remember that 99.99% of us are stoners and well sometimes :paleo: the buzz rules! We Just answer them as politely as we can when we get back up off the floor.

@Bellicious It took me a couple of years going through the seasons to get a feel for my environment. I live in the San Joaquin Valley of California and it is hot and dry here in the summer. We have 25 or so days over 100°F with relative humidity as low as 0 -zero! I learned that I can grow photoperiod plants running 12/12 with the day/night reversed for the plants helps a great deal with the heat management. Then I run autos the rest of the year with lights on 18/6 I almost never need to turn the heater on, usually just for germination. If you do not have a photographic memory it is best if you write stuff down in a log. Doing a journal here is invaluable as you can look back at the details. Do not be afraid to journal the bad stuff that happens to you. You will learn more from a difficult plant than one that is happy all along.

Thank you! I moved the fan and found a better way to vent my garage to bring in more fresh air. The 3BOG is looking really happy this morning! Majority of the leaves have gone back to to normal. I'm in Toronto, Canada and our humidity today is making it feel like 108 F! This comment sums it up "You will learn more from a difficult plant than one that is happy all along." Thanks again Cheers
