On a 10 week old Lowryder 2 with seeds that are large and green and still in their seed pods, will they continue to develop into hard brownish mature seeds while the plant though still healthy is slowly fading towards its expiration date?

They should mature, but if you want the seeds, make sure they go long enough. The Lowrider #2's won't get real dark, just so happens I have done these last spring, but they should harden up. I always wait till they start to fall off the plant before I harvest for seed.

My two cents, other's will have thier own opinion.

I'm never ever patient enough to wait for seeds to fall... but I agree waiting as long as possible is definitely best.
cannabis is designed to seed then die and drop the seeds that way, so I don't think the plant out living it's life cycle will hurt the seeds. The main concern I think will be whether or not the parent plant will stay alive long enough to produce viable seeds. As long as you pollinated 3 weeks ago you should get at least some viable seed but most will be duds. Five weeks from pollination most seeds will be mature. Use high N feedings and don't do a water cleanse like you normally would and you will probably succeed, is my advice FWIW

:)
