Ordered them yesterday. gonna be a couple days before they arrive and I can write a full review, but I'd like to get some input if anyone would like something specific looked at, photgraphed, tested.

The fan I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270964883379#ht_4975wt_824

It's a 6" inline mtn gearsmith. 440 CFM. Comes with mounting hardwear and protective cover.

I know nothing about this fan. Could end up being complete crap. Not even sure on the warranty. Couldn't even find a single review.
at 77 bucks with free shipping though, I'd be happy to be the guinea pig and find out for everyone. I know good, cheap, 6" fans are kind of the holy grail for tent growers.

the light set up:http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160722062856#ht_6376wt_1242

-IPower dimmale 600 watt ballast
-6" cool tube
-ceramic socket
-one MH and one HPS bulb
-free yo-yo style hanging straps (holds 150 lbs)
-free timer

190 bucks. This is a steal considering I see them for 120-180 all day long at local shops.

And supposedly these ipower ballasts roll out of the same factory that the Phantom and Apollo ballast do. sortof a rebranded phantom.

And they have the same five year warranty.

I would've spent the entire 200 bucks for JUST a lumatek ballast, so if the performance of this unit is any good, then I made out very well.

I was gonna buy a 600 watt JD lighting kit instead for 170, but by pay day the BIN went up to $210 =/ thus is life

Be careful with those yo yo hangers. I have seen a lot of growers say that they have come home to their lights having crashed down because the yo yo snapped. I suggest getting something else honestly. Just my to cents.

Definitely man. they are really just a freebie with the lights.

I will check them out, review them, and give an honest opinion on them.

But in my honest opinion, the ONLY thing you can use to hang lights is electrical chain... Its stronger, easier, and cheaper then any type of ballyhoo light suspension system.

What would be a good test for them? I'm thinking about hanging a cinder block from each one outside for the duration of a grow.
Then take periodic pictures and if they hold out, send them to the company with a thumbs up. and if they don't hopefully no one will buy them until they offer a better solution. Free market at work.

I know how hard it is to find answers to some stuff so I'm trying to be thorough here in case any one looking at a tube or one of these sort of middle priced kits will have a good idea.

I expect the timer to be crappy as well, so I think Ill test it by forcing it to shut off my TV at 8 every night (gonna try and get some more reading time in). I'll be careful with it.

The bulbs will be used, but with backups on hand. I don't expect them to be fancy, but I do expect a full grow out of each. I'll be careful and report back.

The ballast and cooltube, I have some heavy standards for. Let's see if the extra money for a phantom is really worth it.. or the $139.99 you'd spend buying a cool tube on and in half of these hydro franchises.

That test sounds fine. Cool. Good job on checking everything out first

Definitely man. I write mma reviews for a local promotion kind of a little side hobby. I took a couple journalism classes back in the day and I watch a shit ton of uk top gear. I love reviewing and tearing things apart haha.

Doing the unboxing now

Well I made about an hours worth of video unboxing and testing only to find out my phones got a crap microphone -_-

What you really miss out in the video is me plugging the fan in. This thing is QUIET and moves a TON of air. Especially for $77. Never been happier with a grow gear purchase.

I'm going to type a full write up and review once Ive had it going for a couple days
