My new HPS system showed up today, and I've plugged it in. My plant is exactly 90 days from seed, and I'll be checking the trics today with a magnifying glass to check the status.

Is there anything I should be aware of with the new light system? Also, any guess if the new light will push the buds toward a little more growth if they're close to being ready for harvest?

Thanks, everyone. I'm still digging this place.

Is the light vented? If so I have found about 16" as close as you want to get before you start to run in to problems. I tried my light about 12" a little while back and light bleached the top of my plant. Between 16-24" seams to be the sweet spot at least with my hood and grow space. I don't know if the extra light will help or not. If your only like 1 week away you probably wont notice but you might as well start growing under it now anyways.

What did you use before? Im in my first grow with hps and quite pleased with the growth im seeing

Before the 600 I was using an 8 bulb high out put T5 that was 2x4 foot. It worked great for a few years but the HPS is way better. I have also used a 250 HPS/MH that I just gave away, I have a 250 CFL 2,700K for breeding projects now and I first started growing under 6, 26W CFL lamps on a power strip back in the day.

Congratulations @ashorama on the new lamp.only have a couple regular tips,,wipe any fingerprints/oils off to prevent cool spots and possible early failure....get a spare bulb or 2cause u never know when one will take a dump on ya...Peace !!! Edit: replaced obvious with regular( it sounded bad,but it wasn't supposed to)

O ya don't touch the bulb. I put mine in using a clean dish towel. All I have is a 7,200K MH bulb if my HPS takes a dump. That reminds me I need an extra bulb. O ya if you run a magnetic ballast like me and want to run a MH bulb. You have to use a conversion bulb. I am sure you probably already know that but just incase you did not. Also I don't like my 7,200K MH just get a regular spectrum if you get one. I think mine is too far in the blue spectrum, generates a lot more heat than my HPS and my plants stretched a lot under the light. My HPS though is amazing!

Thanks, everyone! The info is very much appreciated. This place is so nice and welcoming. I appreciate this forum more than I can express.
