Short season here. Generally the high humidity and insects in the middle of Sept take over and I have to compost the plants, so gonna try getting the seeds in the soil earlier this year and cross my fingers. Want to get them planted by mother's day :amazon: Amending last year's 30 gallons and gonna run 3 10 gallon bags with 3-4 plants in each. These will be a pot of Rocbud auto mix, a pot of Rocbud Smackz and a pot of Cali Connection Deadhead OG :headbang:Here's the mix:
starting with last year's soil that was made to the KIS organics water only recipe amended with:
a bunch of this

Looks like good stuff. Got live red wrigglers and like a million eggs in there and comes in a breathable bag

So 6 of 12 so far in 5 days direct into cool soil. Nothing yet from the ROC auto mix pot

10/12 plants are up. Only 2 not up yet are the mix. Dug around a little and 1 has a tail so should pop up and one didn't even crack open. Screaming hot here this weekend so plants are outside in the shade for now

I've just started reading about the harvest efficiency of more than one plant in a larger pot, looking forward to seeing how yours goes. The idea intrigues me, but with my back I have to stick to smaller pots so that I can move them! Time is not our friend... lol

What kind of bugs are you dealing with? Where I'm at now, it's all moths/worms/bud rot, so I have to grow under netting. I had lost half a crop to them, some entire plants. Growing under netting has it's own issues, but I'm 100% worm free now.

Growing up my grandparents lived in Passaic, have memories of being a little kid and crossing the Tappen Zee to see them and getting freaked out by the height. I lived in Lambertville about 30 years ago, loved it. Fond memories of the Garden State.

I'm very familiar with lambertville. I grew up in hunterdon country. There's a bunch of people around on here that grow plants together with the general thought that the plants like to grow along with friends and the roots communicate with each other. Not sure what kinda bugs I'm dealing with just yet but I'll hit them with some spinosad after the sun goes down

2 weeks old. No new insect damage this week after treatment. Weather has been crazy with multiple nights of unexpected rain and the 3rd hottest day in May in history. So these plants have already seen the 3 hottest may days ever in the mid 90s and rain on and off with nights in the 50s. I've moved them in the shade under trees for the hot days and they've been in the greenhouse for most of the rain. Think I've only watered once. They'll get some recharge next time. Need to get some sort of mulch on top of the soil so I threw some cover crop seeds in there that grew like crazy last year. Also need to find something to get these bags off the ground
