Jedi Healer - New Strain Project By Anthropolis For PTSD
(Skywalker Kush x Med Gom 1.0 auto {high CBD})
Hello friends, Anthropolis here, and this shall mark the official beginnings of a project I've been working on in my mind and heart for about a year now since before I found the beloved Autoflower Network. There are a couple issues which have been weighing heavy on me and very recently hit me like a ton of bricks. Call it the hand of God/Spirits or whatever you believe in or not. Particularly, the pains, anxieties, and PTSD which my fellow friends and veterans feel is a real problem with little out there that helps as well as all natural Cannabis.
There's some amazing strains out there but we need a medicinal strain which is designed from the ground up to target veterans' PTSD. I've noticed some shady seed/breeding practices on other corners of the web, not around here, and I will avoid this by being totally open and honest. (For what it's worth or not worth haha, I am a person of particular ethical, moral, and religious values.)
Whatever this project is or becomes, it is not for any gain except to help people heal, and is dedicated to that which I believe in. I'm setting out into a whole new journey, almost blindly, but I'm being led by my heart and soul to do this. There has been a great deal of soul searching and some tears to get here. Am I crazy? Yeah probably, but in an endearing way.
Enough on that, let's get out the popcorn and get on with the show, shall we?
So why "Jedi Healer"? As a warrior and spiritualist, as well as a follower of some basic Zen and Chi principles, I am a big fan of all things Jedi and thus Skywalker.
[Story note: if you're familiar with the deeper histories of the Jedi, such as within the video games / books / spinoff series', one of the specialized types of Jedi found in their medical facilities are the sect called Jedi Healers. They of course use the force for healing patients. Some other powerful Jedi can also use the Jedi Healer powers to heal themselves. See how this is all coming together nicely now? ]
There are many reports of the Skywalker strains (both the original Dutch Passion Skywalker and the Reserva Privada Skywalker Kush) being praised by those with PTSD/Anxiety. Alas, it's missing something vital to the type of healing we require: CBD! Also, it is missing autoflowering genes which I think is important not only because C. Ruderalis carries extra CBD but also facilitates ease of growing. Vets and those with PTSD and/or anxiety can be a difficult group, I would know haha. Often we can be hard headed, stubborn, and resistant to complexities. So, it will be an autoflower which can be easily grown and maintained.
Thus, a Skywalker will be married with a Med Gom 1.0 (high CBD) auto and crossed until the autoflowering breeds true. The final result will be Jedi Healer, an auto with good CBD and still carrying some of those beloved characteristics of the Skywalker lineage (Mazar x Blueberry).
There will be some surprises and unforeseeable evolutions along the way, and if it's missing any marks, I have no problems with scrapping the line and starting again until it is right. I don't have warehouses, big money, or tons of techy equipment... But I have a goal, a dream, dedication, and a big heart. I know I'm still kinda new around here, but I have 20+ years of growing plants of all types, plus tons of horticulture classes in high school and college. (Not that it matters really lol, but I have an AA and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, so I'm very familiar and invested in PTSD on both an experiential and educational level.)
Please join me along this crazy dream of mine, tune in, turn it up, sit back, and enjoy the show! It's all for you

Where it's at right now (Nov 11, 2014) and where it's going: I've done the knowledge and got it all planned out on paper. The tentative goals are set, and are realistic. The first sets of (rather pricey) beans are on the way I've got the supplies covered. Space is tight, but that's life hah! I know this needs to be started now.
I'm going to grow them all out and see how they shape up. For that round I will run them in equal small pots, 2 gallon (fabric pots of course), and not going for personal stash at all, just gotta see how they run. I'll be reversing 1 branch of each, and taking a cutting of each. The Skywalker Kush should be pretty uniform and stable, shouldn't be too difficult picking that parent, especially since I'm not going for THC. Since they're photoperiod, I'll be able to veg however I want and take plenty of cuttings to work with and preserve the line for later.
The Med Gom 1.0 side will be difficult, since I predict that it hasn't been well stabilized, and the existing lab numbers on it are all over the charts... Not to mention it's an auto with a halfway preset lifespan. At this juncture, I don't have funds for lab tests, but fortunately my body is extremely sensitive to detecting and judging CBD levels and I can easily tell which one is highest. I also recently saw some cheap ($30?) home CBD and THC test kits, which are almost useless, but would be helpful in comparing the CBD levels between them.
I'm in contact with Dutch Passion and trying to figure out what the status of the original Skywalker is exactly. It's out of stock everywhere I looked and I'm wondering if it's dropped. The Reserva Privada Skywalker Kush is the other choice, although the rumor is that it's unrelated to the original DP, but is the seed form of the California clone cutting. I've also got a shout out to Reserva Privada to ask if their Skywalker Kush's Skywalker parent is also from Mazar x Blueberry. Further web research has shown better yields, better flowers, and higher THC with the Reserva Privada Skywalker Kush than the original DP Skywalker, 19% vs 12%.
Jedi Healer isn't going for a high THC exactly, since the mean average will be somewhere between the low Med Gom 1.0 auto and the high Skywalker Kush. It's not aimed to be a strain to get blasted high on, forget that idea now lol. Although, a better mean level would be reached with the Reserva Privada than the Dutch Passion, if the levels claimed by the respective sources are accurate. For now, I'm going ahead with the Reserva Privada Skywalker Kush, I have a better feeling about that one and have a pack on the way.
Since I've also committed to testing Purple Stone (Dragons) (yayy!!) now, I may need to run just the Med Gom 1.0 autos now first and collect their pollen. This would actually make more sense because I need to have the Med Gom 1.0 grown, dried, and cured enough to sample, in order to judge levels and effects so I know which pollen is going to be a winner. About that time I'll have my tent freed up and can give the Skywalkers more room and focus to better pick a winner. Then, the fun really begins. For now, I'm bringing you guys in early on the ground floor to watch the exciting beginnings unfold! As some of you all may have noticed, I'm good at biting off more than I can chew yet somehow making it work, and that's how I've always been haha, I'm just not satisfied if I'm not pushing my limits. Let's have some fun now!
Thanks for coming along for the ride! Any suggestions, comments, or tips anytime along the way are very welcomed.
