In a deep water culture system thi DSCF0475.jpgDSCF0474.jpgDSCF0478.jpgDSCF0476.jpgs sometimes happens, but Im not sure...

Hmmm.. I'm not a hydro-grower but from what I can make out I'd be thinking more along the lines of a nutrient issue. Unless my eyes deceive me, I see crispy leaves, spotting, excessive yellowing of the lowest fan leaves, white tips...

If this was in soil I'd say ph/ec issue.. but in hydro I'm not sure if the symptoms would appear the same.

Have you been monitoring your ph/ec levels? If you could provide a little more info on those and also your temps/humidity etc, it would be helpful for others to diagnose.

:peace:

The temp. is 80, humidity is at 30 (which is low for veging plants, could be the issue) the ph is good between 5.6-6.2 for all buckets of water. I think it has something to do with the nutrients because I start of slow with .68 ml/L and then work my way up. Currently I have them at 1.3 ml/l so they are beginning to get what they need. Last week I noticed some root rot, nasty brown shit on my roots, and took care of the issue with hydrogen peroxide and the root rot disappeared but then the discoloring began. But again I think the discoloring, like bigbuddha mentioned, is a nutrient problem. BUT, I don't know why the plants look a little down, instead of reaching happily towards the light. There under a 600w lamp. I think I have noticed this in the past. Starting from seed, I noticed the plants look sad before exploding into veging. We will see what happens

I doubt very much that the humidity is the issue, I live in Colorado and it has been less than 10% RH up until a snow a few days ago and my sativas are doing fine in this climate... The light may be a bit much though for seedlings, I always start under a fluorescent setup of some sort...

Also even though it may seem as thought the root rot is fixed, there is a good chance it was a fatal blow to a young plant, how many days was it on when you found the problem?

Here are some pics of my last plants the were veging, now currently flowering and doing ok. They did really well under T5 four bulbs. I think next time ill keep my plants in the T5 tent for a while longer before putting them into the 600w tent.

Humidity was much better in these pics. About 40%-50%

Yep they definitely look happy there, good grow karma sent your way, :wiz: hope they get to looking like that again!

That's good to know thank you. I am usually spending money on humidifiers and filters to keep the humidity at optimal range.
