@bde6187:welcome:Welcome to AFN:welcome:.

Use Metal Hailide for veg and HPS for flower. Go to the vendor's site for distance from canopy. The lamp at the bottom of the post is not what the rest of the post is talking about?

I read that lux and lumens are the same. They are, right? Meter says 13844 and company specs say 55000

Lux is a different measure of light than lumen and neither are good for describing the light to grow plants. What you want to learn about is PAR, PPFD and DLI. Bruce Bugbee is good at explaining the later and this video about headlamps explains Lux and Lumens.

What do you think of what my light meter read? That can't be right could it? It's so far away from the company specs? Thanks

I have no idea, I do not use a lux or lumen meter.

I use the Photone app on my phone calibrated to the secifications from ChilLed for my GrowCraft 500w fixtures. The Photone app has Lux but I do not use it. In order for the app to be accurate it must be calibrated to an accurate measurement for your light.
