If you use boveda packs do you need mini hygrometer in the jar?

I have 32oz wide mouth jars and boveda 62 8 gram packs. Do you recommend also getting some of the mini hygrometers to put in the jar with the bud and the boveda packs in it? Do you have a brand you recommend? I would like to buy it on amazon for it on there.

I got the 62% packs and I basically just throw them in a loosely packed jar. I never burp them afterward and the hay smell usually goes away pretty quickly. I throw them in the jar pretty wet too and I never worry about them after. The saturated packs I use for the older and much drier buds from like last year. It seems to rehydrate them just a tad and gets them smelly again.

I have used Boveda and Integra Boost packs along with humidity indicators in jars for several years 58's and 62's. The hygrometers are on point with the packs even on 2 test jars after 2 years. IMO, the hygrometers are most useful to me in the first couple of weeks of the cure for peace of mind, otherwise they are somewhat unnecessary after they hit the 62 or 58 mark. After 2 years with the 2 test jars i have, terps. are still pungent, although thc has degraded somewhat, although, no science - just personal experience.

I bought cheapo hygrometers on ebay....2 different china brands....and both are shitty...and wouldn't recommend the brand....i test them and toss the ones that aren't accurate.

Thanks. You mentioned you like to jar it when it is 64 rh but how do you know that? When the rh of the drying tent is 64 or do you put it in a jar with a hygrometer for a few hours then look at what rh it says on the hygrometer on there?

I brown bag dry ~5 to 9 days dependent on hydrometer in the the brown bag. Then in jar with hydrometer.
