hey everyone i have 2 foggers and SM-90 for pest control...Was gonna do a preventive pest maintenence but was told not to and worry bout it when it happens... And now i have gnats all over my coco/perlite mix...Anyways would u guys leave ur plants in the room with the foggers as my ladies are just 9 days old today..Also could i just put some SM-90 water thru my plants would this kill the gnats??:peace:Thanks for the help in advance

not sure what you mean by foggers... but if you mean "chemical foggers" no... i wouldn't... might want to just use about 1 tsp of dish soap in with a gallon of water.... usually does gnats in pretty quick... heres some other http://www.autoflower.org/f7/organic-pesticides-1139.html

you dont want to smoke chemicals do you?

soap and water for real?? what do i do grab a bucket of water and put soap in it??

i cant really spray the babies they r young as hell 9 days, so will i just spray the solution on the coco/perlite mix?? Also do u think i could do the same thing with SM-90??

firstly if you have gnats chances are you are overwatering.

use some tobacco juice to kill the adults and get some white sand on the surface of your coco, it'll suffocate the larvae.

another trick I read was to put some potato slices on the surface to attact the larvae, once they are on them, remove the slices... easy.

the sand trick will do more good than harm though, the white will reflect light up to your plants, and it'll stop things like algae and moss before it starts (which I'm assuming it will due to the overwatering)

I hope that helps, I'm a complete n00b myself but I done a lot of homework, if anyone disagrees with the above feel free to chime in, no offence will be taken.

A wee bit of soap is always good for ya plant..softens the soil so food is digested easier......and helps control gnats too....a fly strip hanging close to ya plants will help along with a small bowl of soda...those little buggers love the sweet so much they'll drown themselves....

Hey bro i know ur trying to help but im not a complete noob i have a few grows under my belt and havent had the bad luck until i had to move my ladies to a different location..And they have only been watered 1 time(9 days old) and that was only a couple of ozs of water in a 2.5 gallon nusery pot...This room just isnt as clean as it needs to be...I was gonna fog the room before i put my ladies in there final home but everyone told me not to worry bout it..Anyways with the soap and water do i spray the soap water right on my plant? or do i spray it on the soil? I will also put soda out there..

use the soap and water to water your plant... and keep a good eye on your ph for the next few weeks after you do this... soap tends to raise it... but itll end the gnats problem..

1/2 tsp / gallon water

:smokebuds:

next time listen to your instincts... sounds like they were right... :smoke:

Yeah a lesson learned for sure..Is DAWN dishsoap ok to use??I will make sure to have my PH set low at like 5.5-5.7 then to make up for it..I dont check runoff as there isnt any right now, just babies so small amounts of water every 3-4 days..Do u think i should add some synsizym to the water /soap??Im gonna water tomorrow night so i will do it then, unless they r worse later on when i check on them..Thanks for the help

I tend to water mine in the mornings, about an hour after they got up as to avoid that the plants sit around in soggy soil over night. Gnats enjoy soggy soil. I once used a chemical pesticide on a Pakistan Ryder and although it killed the gnats it also messed with the plant - it grew much slower and way less efficiently.

yeah ill just spray them down with soap water..Starting there 2nd set of leaves 11 days old now..(i think)
