Just started my first grow and my ph has been fluctuating between 6.2 and 6.3 Is this ok? I am only using 1/4 recommended sensi grow nutes and my ppm is 900. Is this an ok level or should I lower ph? The last 2 reservoir changes I adjusted the ph to 5.8 and both times within a day they stabilized at 6.2 meter was calibrated and tested as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello

The best Ph level is usualy between 5.8 to 6.0 for hydro.

U can't follow the recomanded program from the nuts compagny, because they are most of the time higher than what plants can support, so i recomand you to get like 15% to 20 % under the compagny recomandations... this way u'll be sure that u won't have bad surprise about over fertilization and if you see that your plants need more, so you can had a bit more nuts.

hope this will help u.

Good luck :)

I had the same prob with my pH using the sensi a and b. I was always adjusting the pH down in the beginning. I got some Cal/Mg and the pH stablized and pretty much stayed that way. I think maybe it has to do with the plant metabolizing the nutes better with the Cal Mg, and I agree with the above that the pH should be lower than that to prevent lockout. I kept mine in the veg phase around 5.6 to 5.8

so i guess i was also wondering isnt 900ppm for seedlings a bit high? i dont know to much about hydro but figured i should read the thread just to learn as well

I wouldn't consider them seedlings anymore. These autos are in their mid second week No sign of nute burn, all plants are healthy. I'm just not happy with the rate of growth. 3 of 4 now have roots suspended in solution. Reseviour water and indoor temp are in optimum range. I may be alittle shy with the distance of the lighting.

Thanks Jm gonna try to print that out. Also try inserts advice to add mg/cal. I notice zinc is locked out at 5.8 is that important to supplement as well?

dont listen to stitch..... you can use higher amount as i have sensi products and use what is recommended on the an website you just have to step it in like any normal person would. you start 1/4 then 1/2 then you can try full on.

for cal/mag i usually just add 1 tsp epsom salts and 1 tsp molasses or so to a gallon of water... i usually dont start this until week 4 or so when they start to show flowers... and do it 1-2 x a week.

yeah, lol... dont listen to stitch.... breeders dont know anything... :crying:
I think what TSN means is that you can go higher levels... but ultimately, it depends on the plants and your conditions... and most importantly PH as that affects nutrient availability.

hope this helps

When the plants n veg the ph will always rise due to root zone activity. Also PH in tap water will always rise as the acid buffer your using gets slowly used up . When you go to flower things get more stable. Good luck. As for nute I always try to use as little as I can.. With hydro you can grow monsters with half what the makers say. Its proved that you dont even need the grow part of GH's
Three part feed by using the lucas formular. Trial and error will lead you to a perfect feed plan not a lable
