Hey guys is it possible minerals and salts in the water when steamed is it possible that that little deposits can form on stuff in the tent? I know I dont have pm but I have to wipe down things in the tent because of my humidifier I think, anyone else have that problem? In the instructions it does say best use clean filtered water

mine was leaving very fine white spots on my leaves. I figured it was from my water. I stsrted using the ultrasonic mister and it stopped. humidity is higher then the humidifier was able to do also. hope this helps.

I went through that problem on my first grow. About halfway through I noticed a white residue all over the wall, lights, and a bit on the plants. Turned out it was just some mineral deposits left over from the humidifier. I switch to RO water only, for feeding and for the humidifier, and have not had any problems since,

I've noticed this problem too. Would these deposits be damaging to the plants / lights? What is RO water?

RO = Reverse Osmosis, it’s filtered water that has very little mineral content (mines currently at 4ppm, instead of the 280ppm tap water). As for what it will do to plant’s, that I’m not sure. I’d imagine nothing good though. My old light was actively cooled by small fans, and I didn’t want them getting gummed up and burning out from the residue building up on them.

Yes.. The residue and mineral deposits left behind can make the plants sick.. Happens often with tap/hard water.. Plants absorb/intake the minerals/salts that are left on their leaves, and in the soil. If you have sodium/salt residue on the leaves, those leaves are taking in that sodium/salt. So is the soil that it landed on. That definitely has the potential to cause problems. This is common with ultrasonic humidifiers. So is powdery mildew/mold. You'll want to clean/disinfect that humidifier often. You'll want to clean everything that the mist from the humidifier reaches if it's leaving that much of a "white dust" footprint behind. Reverse osmosis water won't leave behind high levels of salt/mineral deposits, if any, as long as the humidifier is clean.
