Will yield be greatly affected by using HPS lighting instead of Halide during flowering? 2nd question is if HPS will be better how well do the conversion bulbs work?

https://www.autoflower.org/f5/lighting-pros-cons-various-kinds-71.html Def check that thread out. Various talks on all types but sift through it.

I run MH for the Veg and switch to HPS for flowering. HPS spectrum helps with the flowers. I do not know much about these HPS bulbs that carry array or diff spectrum, but read that link up above. I am going to be reading it again later tonight. A lot of great info.

i use a hps from 2 nd week --never change--i start under cfls 2 weeks this is what a 150 hps will do 100_4211.jpg

I think both are best!.I use both hps and halide for flower. but i start on halide only and hps when flowering starts. I have no complaints with the large chunky buds i grow!:toke:

If you can afford the space and money it is beneficial to run both MH and HPS during the flowering period to keep things from stretching too much (denser colas) and also gives your ladies more useable spectrum for growth in general... :ladies:

I like My super MH which actually has a good bit of energy in the red spectrum while still being mostly blue light. I just switched to an HPS and a Super MH using 2 air cooled hoods over my plants and both dimmed to 400 watts each, and all 800 watts covering a space of about 5x5 feet currently with plants sized as they are... This wil be run through the next small bit of veg and all through flower, and will be increased to the full 1200 watts overhead. I will be using some side lighting CFLs in the 2700 K spectrum (around 600 watts total now, and almost identical spectrum as an HPS)

Some of the top of the line HPS bulbs like the Eye Hortilux have expanded blue spectrums and work quite well for both veg and flowering. They can be used for the whole grow, start to finish, eliminating the need to change bulbs and give very good results.
