Lighting HPS how far to hang light

Yeah I was needing to know how far from the canopy do you guys (and gals) hang your HPS. I had heard around 4 to 6 inches but that seems awful close to me but not sure.

So please let me know what you do. Thanks for the help.

I have a 6.5 ft tent and when I put my ladies in about 2 weeks old I had the light about 3ft above the canopy and haven't moved it since and don't plan on it through flower until im forced to. But Ive heard the closer the better as long as it doesn't make the back of your hand hot then it should be alright. The first pic is actually after a week and a transplant so 3+ weeks old the other was 3 days ago. also Im using a 400w hps

Yeah Jay ..About 24 inches during Veg then around 12 in in bloom. ..
As close as u can with the back of ur hand not getting to hot is the safest way m..

I have two CC going now one is about a week away from harvest and the other not far behind and also a GhazexC99xC99. Then planning starting another as soon as these are chopped. The CC are just like yours
