Hello fellow growers. I have posted a bit before on other discussion areas here with some questions. This is my official introduction thread now that I'm ready to get going/growing. So hello all! BTW, I love this site. Been reading it for a new months now.

I will for sure post a newbie grow journal once I start a real grow. For now I'm waiting for my government grow paperwork to come in and I'm doing some experimenting to kill some time. I have a 4x4 tent with 2 600 watt HPS lights with cool tubes and a fan and filter and other important tools.

I am currently growing 9 tomato plants from seeds in the tent so I can get a feel for the environment, lights, temp, medium, water etc.

I'm looking for genetics recommendations now. I'd like to get my beans now while I wait for the paperwork to be completed so once it's completed I can legally start popping seeds and give the tomato plants to my wife for the outdoor garden.

Hoping for some suggestions or recommendations or just insight in to some auto seeds to order. My preferences or priorities are as follows:

Reasonable price/on sale. Being a newbie, I don't want to go gucci on high end expensive beans that might not yield well in the hands of a newbie.

Easy to grow for a newbie.

Good reliable genetics like DP and Dinafem, Mephisto etc.

I primarily want to find the right strain or blend of strains (e.g. blend infused oils together like a couch lock indica with a high CBD strain) to help me deal with bad insomnia. After that, my goals are to just have fun with what I think will become a good hobby and obessions, grow some kewl looking plants, find a nice recreational high that I like, maybe a pain remedy too.

You should take a look at Mephisto Artisinals. They've gone a bit farther with these by making them full auto then breeding them back with a choice photo then back to auto. Top grade stuff 3 Bears OG is a very nice couch lock inducing herb.

I just finished my first grow and my mephisto plants were by far the easiest to grow. Also, my Sour Stomper was the grapey-est flavored weed that I have ever smoked! But not a couch lock high. Felt Sativa leaning to me. My Sour Crack is definitely indica leaning and a good night time smoke. It is a strong stone that can make me forget everything.

I would definitely recommend Mephisto to a beginner. Order direct and you'll get awesome freebies too. Try the Sour Crack!

Pepe, just reading my way thru your goodness inside thread. Thanks for making the rec. I have been watching their website and strain availability and with all the out of stock items and the "high" demand I was looking at other breeder options.

MoreBerry, can you recommend a high CBD Mephisto strain?

I like dinafem Industrial plant auto high CBD or the haze cbd. I mix 50 50 with a strong indica or a hybrid. That way i get my CBDs and I get really high then which is what I like. Right now I do not think mephisto has a high CBD plant. But they do have some of the strongest auto on the planet period bar none. There shelves should be full soon of new stock across the board. Welcome to afn ,I have grown out many different autos by a lot of different companies finding winners along the way ,mephisto has great autos and a lot of my friends really enjoy autoflower portal strains that are also top notch .

Thank you for the replies. I will be ordering next week so currently going thru all the Mephisto in stock items and making my list. Will add in a Dinafem high CBD too. I have infused coco oil with medical grade Indica and CBD 1:1 strains and then tried them separately and mixed together. It is hit and miss for me so I want to grow a variety of strains so I can experiment. And growing your own is so much better than buying it.

I have a couple of pics of my tomato plants that I'm using to test the tent and system out and they don't look great to me. I'm not sure if it's a water thing or what. If I post a picture in this thread would that be ok? Or should I do it on the infirmary?

As a med patient myself with BAD insomnia and chronic pain...I have found that as long as the genetics are good, and an indica leaning plant....the pain relief and sleepiness is brought on by letting the plant (trichomes) amber up much more than you would normally. If I am going for a narcotic type effect, I'll let it go to 25% amber or so.

As everyone above said, you can't go wrong with mephisto. Also check out autoflower portal's gear....a lot of their strains are geared toward the medical patient. I've had good experiences with Fast Buds gear as well.....their Blackberry is excellent if left to amber up, Tangie and Green Crack are some of my favorite day time meds....also, their Pineapple Express,Six Shooter, Gorilla Glue, and Star Dawg are all excellent.
