Ive got a 480w QB that's been dimmed to 260-280w during veg in my 4x4.

First grow here.

How fast can I ramp up the light? I noticed when I tried to increase it a bit in veg, the upper leaves would 'taco' a bit. I've upped it to 300w (from 285w) today to gauge their response. I'm day 40 since they emerged from the Coco.

Should I get to full power over a week? Quicker? Slower? The closest recommended distance is 20". Ive been keeping it at 24" so far.

There are lux meters on the app stores mate, they will help you get an idea whats going on. Iam at day 33 starting preflower and iam at 4000 lux.

Happy growing :)

Oops. I turned my QBs up to full power when flower started. :rolleyes1:

For a first grow those are some impressive results - congrats!
I always keep my light (420w) a few inches above recommended height.

Don't forget, seedlings grown outside are subject to over 100,000 lux of sunlight as soon as they sprout, at least for part of the day.
I recently added some seeds into a hydro setup that had 3 week old plants with full lights (platinum p-600 blurple @ 325 Watts), but 40" away.
They are catching up to the others, and were not at all harmed by the light they received even before sprouting.
The secret is to do no sudden changes in food, light, temp, etc.
