I am currently running single 130w 288 QB Rspec that was built by the late Niemi company. I have used it on my last two grows and let’s just say that the results were much better than my first ghetto grow with GE spotlight grow bulbs from Target. All four of the plants that I have grown have been the same Indica auto, fast buds Fastberry. Of course, they all went longer than the breeder says they should and in a couple of cases could’ve gone even longer. I am now thinking about first buying a 2 x 2 1/2 gorilla lite tent with extension and Growing auto sativa strains. These grows would still be either a single large plant or two small ones, but sativa which could take a bit longer. What I was wondering is if say a separate 4000K HLG 65 QB or even one of the 4000 K 55w COB’s Would be enough to veg these plants for four weeks? I ask because my stoner math says that could give you say six crops a year instead of four. I’m not even sure I would need to use a tent for that veg phase. I would just put it in the tent when it started to stink too much. I haven’t used a tent so far. LOL. So do you guys think that the. HLG 65 or even the 55 COB would be enough or would I be better off getting say the 4000K HLG 100? The obvious advantage of the HLG 65 over the HLG 100 or even a 55w COB that I would trust is that the 65 is only $100 on Amazon

I vote the 4000k HLG 100 for the light coverage. If we assume 30w psqft then it's almost perfect in a 2x2 space whereas the 130w would be adequate for flowering.

Are you intending to grow photos? All the sativas I've grown like strong light intensity. 4 week veg for a 2x2 is a bit much as I've filled a 4x4 scrog in a week veg from seeds with 6 x 3 gallon pots. 4000k is going to help keep the plants compact.

No, strictly autos for now. There are some sativa strains out there that only come in photo that I would like to try eventually, like some of the Hawaiian, Panamanian, and Jamaican land races and maybe some real Congolese. But there’s a lot of really good old-school and slightly hybridized sativa out there in auto form. Between folks like fast buds, world of seeds, and Dutch passion there are enough interesting sativa autos to keep me busy for quite some time.

Are you attempting a perpetual? I would veg the first batch under the 4000k until probably the end of the stretch and then move them to the tent under the 130w. Then start my next batch of autos 3-4 weeks before I cut the current crop. This way they hopefully keep short internodal distance until the stretch is over.

I could be wrong lol
