Hi All, Would adding extra LED lights I my tent be of benefit? I am currently using a single mars hydro SP250. I also have an older type mars hydro 600w still in its box I’m thinking of hanging down one side.

I am assuming that's a Mars Hydro 2x4 tent there ? I have the same setup, this light has perfect coverage in a 2x4 tent. Adding the ECO 600 would be too much, you'd just burn your plants or have to hang the lights really really high(you'd run out of tent height). I mean sure you could dim the SP-250 down and have the ECO run full blast(no dimming on that) and do it like that but i doubt you'd see any benefit other then a larger electricity bill. Also the ECO is just a blurple light, the SP-250 has a much superior spectrum(white light). I say sell that ECO or use it as a veg light in a smaller tent.

Thanks for the advice

You're welcome. You'll have fun growing, i know i am, this light is blowing my mind. Cut down an Auto Royal Cheese plant a week ago, poor little girl was mistreated outside(greenhouse) by my brother in law(he doesn't know what he is doing lol), was kept in a tiny pot for too long so went into flower very early, had all sorts of insects on it etc. I took her home, put it into a larger pot, cut down the damaged leaves, sprayed some neem oil on it and started it in on a proper nutrient regime. Threw her under the SP-250 to finish her out and it turned out great. Got about 30g off her and it's so damn frosty, even the low popcorn buds aren't popcorn anymore but are small hard frosty nugglets. Very impressed with the light so far, got some Brooklyn Sunrise and White Crack going next and super excited to see how those turn out. :D

Anyway... Good luck on your growing adventures buddy! :)

if you don't like the way your buds develop and growth rates. I would add the second light as long as it doesn't heat your tent up to much.

I have 2 mars hydro eco 300w in my 2x2 with 4 flowering plants right now, day 55, hanging 12 inch above canopy. Its plenty of light. I actually bleached a few of my tops hanging lights at about 8-10 inches in less than 48 hrs. If I were you id hang the eco 600w and adjust the height accordingly to prevent any burns.

The guy above calling the marshydro light spectrum inferior, my plants would have to disagree.

Full spectrum light has been proven to be superior.
That doesn't mean other lighting options don't work, and or work well.

The spectrum of lighting, and intensity has a direct effect on the terpene profiles that will develop as well. (As does temps, rH and medium).
I've gone thru a lot of lights over a lot of years, changing bulbs every 6 months....
Out of all the things you will drop money on to grow, don't skimp on the lighting.
