Two "firsts"....first auto and first LST. I started her training at day 14, and she is now starting to flower at day 30. I am happy with her shape and all growth sites are nicely even to the light.

Is this about the "average" time most plants take to form a balanced shape to allow even growth? I realized there is no cut and dried answer, but what is the average LST training period?

Heavy 'trainer' here... As Archie mentioned, LST is not a set it and forget approach - this is something that involves continued intervention.

Plant growth will generally respond to its manipulated state in a matter of hours/days. The initial response is witnessed in soft tissue growth first (leaves) followed by 'green' branch structure. As this structure matures, it begins to solidify - this is when I'm looking to make adjustments to my tie points. Every 3-5 days the ties are either adjusted or removed completely and re-positioned elsewhere.

Thanks much! I'm really working on training her to create a bowl shape meaning I'm focusing on her horizontal training. Sooner or later, it seems that I need to let her grow upward for bud formation.

Here is my current pic:

I will be letting her grow upward now - but still maintain LST manipulation. I know what you mean that its not set and forget.

You got this. Looks great bud!

Once she was big enough to do a run-off watering, I found her ph was 5.2 in this Ocean Forest soil. Luckily I don't think much lock out damaged the plant. I use Advanced Nutrients Ph Perfect, so now that I have her ph at 6.2, the AN nutes should be available for the plant. I do think, however, that I'll use Pro-Mix on my next series of grows and see how this works out.

Anyway, I did a major LST on Monday afternoon to develop my bowl shape for an open center area. In just 60 hours - look at the awesome difference she shows DESPITE adjusting her ph with a 12 gallon flush in the middle of the 60 hour period. I'll say she is going to be fine now......

Looks great Stone420!!!!!

Isn't it amazing how they twist and turn back up right to point at the light!!!!!!!! And they do it so fast, sometimes I think if I could sit a watch and be able to see it.

It sure is fast to watch them head to the light @DaleR. The cola at 6 o'clock in pic [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] started her turn toward the light in less than an hour. I know what you mean - it happens so fast we can almost watch the movement.

I personally find once the stretch is almost done I back of the LST and see how they go leaving ties on just as pre caution will remove on the final weeks before chop it’s something which has worked well for me being limited to height aswell il attach a few pictures
