So..first of all...trust your tools.
As absolute truth....no doubts. Ever
Second......never calibrate them.
Not sometime...never.

Then start some seeds...water...look...regret...get sad...question...etc...etc..

What didI do wrong??????..?

I've been using my PH and PPM/ EC pen????
But they were off by 2.0!!!!!
$h!t.....
Too late...the seedlings look cooked!

and if you're georgecloney that would make yer mom rosecloney which makes waaay too much sense for gardening forums

picz or it didn't happen :coffee: ppp

I suspect the issue begins with only one problem as usual.:nono:
Soil retaining too much water because the soil was over compressed, then watered.
This led to a phosphorus deficiency..
Last feeding was with a 100ppm solution of calmag and GH bloom.

So the plants perked up after that for a few days, then the leaves started becoming light (Nitrogen deficiency) because of the Calmag lockout.

Ok enough already, lets save the plants from this crap...
So I transplanted them this afternoon into some fresh Sunshine4 and lightly watered them with a dose of NPK @300ppm, PH@6.5

These plants are for seed, not smoke, so I'm just trying to save them at this point without any expectations.

And, BTW,...its pronounced clone E,....not clune E

I do hydro and use the Lucas formula for feeding so I really don't care if my tds pen is calibrated or not, as long as it's consistent. The pH on the other hand has always been a problem child for me. I'm on my 3rd pen for this one grow. Granted one of them was a higher end pen but 5 years old, the other a somewhat new $18 cheapy. They were so beautiful in veg but as they went into flower they started looking like crap. I tried more Cal/mag and then less Cal/mag but still they were getting worse. I finally calibrated all my pens when I broke down and got a new one (7.0, 4.0 and then 7.0 again). The old ones were shot.
I said all that to say...... It's your pH, got to be the pH. (Remember though, I don't do soil so.....)

@GeorgeCloney
What feeding chart do you follow? You're in coco-perlite?
I use the cheap yellow Amazon pen ...BUT it's ALWAYS store with Blue Pen storage solution.Checked the calibration when new and now used more then 200 times and always very close to actual.

Arrete d'etre cheap ClonÉ! ;) :smoking:
.

I tend to agree on the bad ph theory according to raggedy man.
My problem wasn't the quality of the pen, but rather out of calibration.
Prior to the calibration, I prepared a feed solution. Then rechecked it after the calibration. It was now lower by 1.8
So, my previous solutions were not 6.5 but rather being adjusted to 4.7:yoinks:
What is odd however is that I'm also growing some ruderalis that was also fed the same solution.
They didn't like the feed either.
But thats ok because seeds are being plucked next week.
