I currently have a 130 W Niemi RSpec 288 QB. Unfortunately, those folks are out of business now. I am looking at the possibility of buying a 2.5 x 5 x 6.5 tent and I was wondering about buying two of the off-the-shelf HLG 100 lights. I’m going to strictly be growing auto flower plants, so I figured I would go with the 3000 version. That tent would be 12.5 ft.², so would two of those on either end of the 130 W for a total of 330 W be sufficient? Also what I need to rotate the plants within the tent so that they all kind of get the equal amount of the red supplemental light from the 130W? My thinking is that it’s easier and a little cheapeMy thinking is that it’s easier Just grab two of these ready-made lights off of Amazon. Any thoughts?

I just want to speak generically about LED lights. It is much better to overbuy capacity for your lights and to drive them at <70%. The PPFD vs Energy input improves and the heat generated is lower by running them like this while still providing the 38-45 DLI that is desirable. The next concern is spectrum. True full spectrum lights really seem to lean one way or the other Red - or - Blue. I think it is better to buy the ones that lean red and to provide some supplemental blue for veg. Don't buy based on watts buy based on the PPFD you need.

Yes prob enough but marginal since any ole light will do sumpin...go for it, you can add later if needed. I'm running 280w in a 2x3 tent...a 150w qb flanked by two autocobs for adjustability. I'm usually finishing 3 plants with 3 early flowering plants alongside waiting their turn under the knife.

Auto man, My question is not how many lights do you use, but how the hell do you fit six plants in flower in 6 ft.²?:eek1: I currently have one plant taking up approximately 5 ft.

My current 130w is allegedly adjustable in the house the two little potentiators under the plugs. The 100 W HLG is not adjustable. I have been adjusting light intensity by height.

My grow habits of the past 15 yrs have always been small pots, less than 3 ltr. 6 fits ok in a 2x3 tent . Oh yeah, gets bushy at times but seeing a tent of buds is always a pay off. Growing bonzais for 50 years has been an advantage. I don't grow for yeild, only for adequate medicine from healthy plants.

I am surprised at how large the last two auto plants are grown and have gotten in 3 gallon pots, especially this most recent one in a 3 gallon rain science bag
