Right.

I'm sold on the COB concept.
I don't need any more convincing.

Here's my question.

Are COBs a good option for LARGER spaces?

By larger I mean 24m² to 32m².
(260 sq.ft to 350 sq.ft)

If so, which COBs?
How many?

I asked one LED shop, but received a ridiculous answer back.
I think we got lost in translation once we moved beyond the standard tent sizes.

For sure they're good option, but maybe go buy DE HPS for that big space? If money isn't problem, then go with COBs. But you will need many drivers and heatsinks ---> €€€. COBs are the cheapest cost, other stuff like heatsinks etc. is pricey.

Otherwise, you can go 30-50W per square foot, so how much COBs you want depends how hard will you drive them.

I switched to cobs and it's been outstanding. I'm only in a 4x4 tent, but where you would do well with a large space and cobs is efficiency, low heat throw and low electrical draw. A lot to be said for those three alone. I bought the ready to hang 3500K cobs (Bigsm0 www.cobshop.net) and they have performed beautifully.

id tell you my thoughts on this as a cob owner is. go high bay. add lenses. get some light movers. this will fix your issues. check out my journal look over the light i use. then imagine using that light to its true potential, because when i read what you wrote. this came to me right away, growing the size you want will require some extra steps. light movers rock, they extend you effective range by like 30-50% don't quote that. Multi movers will allow you to have to buy less lights, use less elec. no hot spots . anyways just a thought.
