So im at the same time as my last grow and having the same issues! This time around my environment is almost perfect!
Grow medium Tropic bat mix, 60%peat 40%coco
Lights Gntelos0008
Nutrients biobizz
Temps at lowest are 21deg and highest 28deg
Humidity always between 40 and 60%
waterschedule 1.5litres every other day.
Last feed 1ml grow, 1ml bloom, 1ml calmag, 2ml algamic, 2ml rootzone. 2ml heaven.
Feed before was .5ml bloom and .5ml calmag. everything else same.
Water ph is always around 7 to 7.3
Nutrient solution is generally around 6.7ish.
Plants were doing really well up until budsites starting forming last week.
Im thinking the soil is my issue...coco and soil causing ph problems??? anyone!! Its on all plants but the smaller one.
It was all going so well!

after 5 years here yad think i might know how this works......some people call @ tags.
ive seen these things before
Capture.PNG

and they are called tags to,but i couldnt tell ya the first thing about them.i dont get an alert like i do with an @
this is the soil doh its a medium we call the stuff we put in pots the medium :coffee: anytime i read 60/40 i was thinking you added 40 coco to the medium...but thats yhe total combined whats in the pot, nothing added.

this is the infirmary,im not qualified to comment...
lights/flash/camera/fone or confusser screens/eyes can make rendering of colours tricky.
at first glance cal and mag..tiny rust spots and a patchy paleness.tent pic looks good.then the red stems jumped out at me.
then i read the soil instructions and got curfuddled.bat =bat shit high N
peat.....does that not go acidic after a while  it dont half hold water.they dont call them a peaty bog for nothing.
magnesium limestone...limestone ? that is alkiline is it not
no perlite ? i love the stuff.biobizz has about 10% perlite but i still throw in another 50%
enough cal/mag for 9 months ?
packed withh phosphorus ?
just add water for first 2 weeks....so all food is gone after 2 weeks ? huh what about the 9 months of cal/mag ? bat shit high P....
mediums with slow release/built in nutes we have no idea when them nutes release, week 3 ? anytime after 10 weeks is not much use to us.
thinking the soil is for flowers or a hedge not for canna.not that im pointing the finger at the soil.but im lost and thats the truth.
:pighug:

Cheers for reply Archie. Im lost aswell! I couldnt have done anything else better...I was told there is enough N for canna plants for 4 weeks at least, I was getting alot of nute burn up until last week! feeding only water and a smidge of calmag...So it was certainly hot for a while! Last grow i was def a bit late adding nutes but started earlier this time around.
The purple stems have been visible from very early on, so think that might be genetics?...They are growing at moment like mad.
Im hesitant to pull em, as im 32 days in...but dont want to do what i did on last grow and basically nurse them to flower and hope for best! feckin soil! Im gonna point my finger at it...as nothing else stands out.

I'd ease up on the feedings until you're able figure things out.. There are a few factors at play here. 1st being the soil/medium. It's has a slow release of calcium and magnesium and has plenty of bat guano which is high in phosphorus. 2nd.. The feeds.. You stated you are feeding 1ml of Cal mag.. Is that per liter or per gallon? Let's say per gallom for now.. Adding liquid Cal mag on top of the organic cal/mag source already in the soil, can lead to too much calcium. The plant will absorb up the bottled nutes first.. leaving the soil packed with food.. If it's 1ml per liter, then I am almost certain that will be a cause of the issue.

Too much calcium locks out phosphorus and other elements.. Too much phosphorus locks out calcium, magnesium and other elements..

The damage on the leaves looks more like a calcium deficiency than magnesium at this point. Remember, they are separated issues and should be treated separately. (There is no such thing as cal/mag!). Base on what you've posted, I'd say that you are hitting a nutrient lock out at around 30-34 days from seed. Due to either too much phosphorus from the bat guano plus the liquid bottle feeds.. Or too much calcium/magnesium, from the time release in the soil, plus the liquid bottle feeds..

Soils with time release are difficult to predict. You don't know how much Cal and mag are being released, or when..

Im sure that's why it happpend at the same time frame as your last grow. If you use soils that are amended and have plant food aready in them, I recommend trying to let the plants feed on that until it's gone, and then start bottled nutes if that's what you feed with. Plants will use up the liquid nutes first. Think of using liquid nutes as spoon feeding your plants instead of letting them feed on their own, when they get hungry.

A quick flush could help.. But with a slow release soil, you could be right back in the same spot in two weeks.

Ehhhh.. I wouldn't take that exact approach, lol.. If you do nothing for the next few days, you're just gonna watch the problem spread and get worse. I would at least try a light flush and check the ppms/e.c. of the run off. If it's in the thousands (ppm) that's definitely the potential lock out zone. I'd flush until my ppms were at like 500 or so and start fresh from there...

I see a lot of people have problems with peat. Peat is in a way the exact opposite of coco. Coco works by being a hydroponic medium and not allowing you to over water as long as it drained. Peat holds many times it's weight in water and is harder to dry out than a sponge. Peat is for clones. Coco is for lazy hydro. I'm not sure they are a great combination.

What's the pH of your runoff?
