Anyone from canada use herbies lately?

Just trying to find out some info on tracking

My order showed up on canada posts tracking but said it was sent for further inspection then a while later says it was released from customs for delivery.

Is this normal routine or should i fear for the worst lol

I've not ordered from Herbies' - but - I've purchased a lot of things from over the border (Europe, States, Japan, China etc) - and have never seen a message in tracking that stated an item was sent "for further inspection" - even though multiple items had been way-layed in customs, opened and duty/tax charged.

I did some Google searches, before I ordered my first seeds - looking for the legalities involved in importing seeds into Canada.

Lots of info on the fact that seeds are not illegal to possess in this country - but I could find nothing about whether or not it was against the law to have them shipped across a border into Canada.

I decided to play it safe (security is pretty important to me) and only order from Canadian seed retailers that had already brought the seeds into this country (and there are a couple that advertise as "Canadian retailers" - but actually ship from a different country - so if its important to you, ask your questions of the retailer) - but of course, you pay a little more for them.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help - I would consider it outside the norm based on my past experiences, but it may be completely normal. I guess you'll know for sure in a day or two.

I hope i got the right answer

Just got off the phone with my sister in-law and a friends sister who both work for canada post and from what they say its normal lol

I guess canada post gets the mail delivery 1st and then they send it to customs for inspection then back to them again

Good to hear!

Have you ever heard of anyone having seeds confiscated in Canadian customs? I haven't personally - and am wondering if its not illegal to import them?

Only seen a couple canadians not getting them and recieve the letter but pretty sure they got found out from customs on the other side of the boarder.

From what i understand its legal to have seeds here as long as they can't germinate lol

Not sure about the laws for importing them

Yeah - I'm not sure about those legalities, either - and trying to dig up that info is proving a bit tricky.

I'm thinking it might be a bit of a grey area - with perhaps no laws pertaining to it specifically.
I believe I'll stick with the Canadian sellers (and slightly higher costs and less choice) - until I can find something concrete.

There's also
www.gtaseedbank.ca

They have a store front as well

ordered lots there , always got my goods quickly , one thing i wasnt happy about was when i mentioned he should look into possibly dropping one company as every strain i ordered from their list hermied it was when he was still a fairly new bank so a while ago now and i dont remember how many strains i got from the one breeder but it was around 6 or 8 and every one of them hermied , some full blown too , but anyway , what im trying to say is ,,,, him and i emailed back n forth a lot , i was making orders at least every couple weeks , sometimes every week , once i mentioned my displeasure with the company breeding the hermies he stopped replying

i was pollite about it too

peace

Well the order came and all is fine and dandy except the fk'ed up on the order and sent a pack of wrong seeds

Ordered some regular Blue Himalaya but they sent me Diesel instead but i can live with that lol

Only took 6 days to get to my door which is impressive

:booya:

Hey Canuks
There is a place in Hamilton called Ricky's he has a few locations there in local variety stores... the prices were a bit high but all cash no paper trail if your paranoid. Just Google them. A few other seeds available in TO.
