I'm just away to wrap up a blueberry auto and a pineapplegum auto, both brilliant to grow.

I'm in a secret jardin hydroshoot120 but might get a bigger tent, I'll be using 3-5gal fabric pots and itll be led&cfl for lighting. If I stuck to the 120 tent how many could I get in there?

Also lets talk strains......:smokeout:

Your issue isn't tent size as much as lighting.
I run a 4x4, and can run 9 small strains (not much bigger around than the bag) 4 to 6 medium sized strains, and 1 or 2 of the larger ladies.

In a 4x4 (16 sq feet) you need a minimum of 400 watts of quality LED lighting (quantum board / cobs) I run 450w of DIY cobs and am happy, but when I upgrade it will be to an hlg 600 quantum board.

i grow in a 120x120x2.0 same tent and ive grown my fair share of strains i go with 4 in 15ltr autopots and with 4 it gets packed in there for me for smaller compact strains Mephisto are great and top quality you could get more than 4 of these also Humboldt are superb i just done a bubba cush and got 179 grams off that also short stuff do big yielding strains or dinafem seedstockers are belter ones also if you can see the sanlight thread i ran most strains in there if you fancy a look

the more room you give your plants the more they can grow so idk. I've seen one take up a whole tent and some tents with 10 to 20 in it. I think it has to do with pot sizes that decides how far the roots can grow and stretch.

With this run am finishing up I only had 2 in there, but the original plan was it was meant to be a micro grow in a old tv console but due to security I had to move location and move them into a pot, theyd been transplanted from solo cup to 2 2ltr pots, and I think if I hadn't done lst and had them in bugger pots they definitely could have filled he tent, I was thinking for the next run 8 in 4 gal pots or am I'm pushing it and making the job harder for myself?
Strainwise I might split it 2 strains 4 plants each strain, one of the strains im wanting some strong purple/blue phones I love watching the colour explosion

I am going to a different light set up, if it goes to plan I might get 2 600w vipaspectra led boards, with the cfls I have for additional lighting. Or I could do a full cfl and get 2x 3-400w duel spectrum bulbs along with the ones I have as additional? What scenario would work best, from this run both plants responded well to cfl lighting on it's on and cfl and led together

The lighting I'm currently using on the pineapple and blue are 1000w led panel (China cheapy) 2x 135w cfls and 1x35w cfl

Let me explain it differently a 50w cob, with all the perfect conditions, will produce approximately 80 grams of finished (marketable nug) weed. It doesn't make any difference how many plants I wedge under that 50w, it's still only going to make 80 grams.

Under quality LED approximately 1.6 to 1.8 grams per watt can be expected from a competent grower.
Those numbers are for high end LED, Chinese lighting will be less, HPS/MH figures drop to .6 to .8 grams per watt.

Not trying to push you to other lighting, just wanted to explain so that if there is a lighting purchase in your future, you can make an informed choice. And or don't end up with a ton of plants going that end underlit, and unhappy.

CFL I have no idea of watts needed per sq ft, it does not produce a cost effective marketable product.
