Hey Guys,

Does anyone have an idea on what's going on here?

I introduced a oscillating fan a few days ago and thought it might be wind burn since things seemed fine before that but it looks like a ph issue right?

Growing 4 plants in autopots with 70% soil and 30% coco as my medium and a 2000W LED at 30".

I'm currently hand watering with 0.3 EC tap water that goes in at around 7.4ph until I reach day 20 in which I will switch to the res.

Fed 500ml on day 5, 750ml on day 10 and gave the girls a 200ml mega crop mix at 1.4 EC last night on day 14 as I thought it was a nutrient deficiency.

I gather I'm in a fair bit of trouble so any help would be greatly appreciated!

What is your RH the damaged leaves look like the plants dried out and slight up curl on the edges also symptom of to low RH

and yes PH could be an issue

Good point, I'll head out to buy a gauge tomorrow, I'm a bit silly and didn't think to worry about temps and humidity cause they swear it's the perfect conditions to grow in over here in Australia in winter.

I forgot to mention I'm a first timer also.

I did turn the carbon filter exhaust system on yesterday would that mess up the humidity?

:toke:-- looks like a bit of P defc. to me, could be lack of (if that's the first feed so far),... off -pH is possible too, or both! First I have to ask, Autopots are square, is this a tiered plant in there, sitting in a round pot?
Checking in-pot pH will have to be done by with a pH probe of some type... Blue labs makes a very nice one, pro-grade; Accurate 8 (Control Wizard) is a decent unit, much less $$, or some other brand name selling the identical unit but for less $ as well :phsoil:<-- A8 is the long probe here.....
..let's see what some feeds do meantime, that soil blend is not very rich.....

The problem stopped as soon as I turned the fan off funnily enough, that may just be a coincidence but I'm thinking the fan was too powerful or the placement of it was off as I could have been blowing all the hot air just beneath the light directly on to and around the leaves, could still very well have been a ph issue though as many I have spoke to think so as well.

Regarding the round pots it's actually a story you probably haven't heard yet but Australia don't stock the UK version of the autopots due to copyright/legalities as they have a company over here called autopot who made their own version.

Here's a link to the Australian system I use here - http://www.gardensmartshop.com/Hydrotray_Single_4_pot_kit_p/3936.htm

I would have much rather purchased the trialed and tested UK version everyone else has but sourcing spare parts and accessories would be a nightmare as I'd have to purchase from overseas.

Hopefully this system is just as effective :coffee2::biggrin:

Ah, nice catch mate! yes, It could have been...it's more rare and hard to diagnose remotely, but transpiration stress is a thing! There's a good article on vapor pressure deficit in the Reference Section in here, this addresses the links between T, RH% and how this affects transpiration, the movement of water and nutes from roots to leaves by the process of evaporation from the stomata... this is the "pull" if you will, drawing them up and out,.... read up and see some highly relevant dots get connected-

Legend mate! will do, so much useful information and individual knowledge on here its great :headbang:

It's also nice to have smart people who, even when they don't know the answer, know how and where to look for answers. Bravo!
