New Grower Help, plant out growing tent

Hey all, I have a fairly short tent at about 54” tall, and up until now it hasn’t been an issue. Between LST and me being a sub-par grower, my plants have stayed pretty short.

I’ve been working on my growing technique and this round of plants is doing very good. One in particular, a White Widow, has decided that it wants to go buck wild! Here’s a pic from a few days ago, it grew another inch or two since:

The pot is about 7”, but the plant is 35” tall. The light I have is a Roleadro COB from amazon and I have it as high as I can, and the bottom is 46” from the ground. So at this point the highest colas are between 4-6” from the lights

Any ideas of how to deal with this? The leaves are curling up a bit and folding but it also has done that throughout the whole grow even at 20+”

I have been contemplating buying a HLG 135W QB288 quantum board lately as the roleadro leaves something to be desired, and since it is so thin, I’ll probably be able to get it mounted another 4-6” higher. Other than that or buying a new tent I’m out of ideas.

Thanks!

I would give all the overly long stems a supercrop, pinch the stem at your desired height till you feel it pop and bend it over to 90 degrees, the tops will start to turn back up to the light within a day or 2.

You know what? I contemplated super cropping but is it too late for that now that it’s in flowering? I thought it was more a veg technique?

Also, there are 6 tall main colas. Should I stagger them or do all at the same time?

You can bend the other ones when they get taller. If you get nervous about it, you can always put a small band of duct tape around the bends. I use needle nose pliers (squeeze gently until bend is where you want it) to bend when needed. I tape the jaw with masking tape.

Yep, supercropping is it  Doesn’t bother them a bit, lay it so it doesn’t cover another good bud.

Cool, thanks guys. I will give it a try and report back. I also drunkenly bought the HLG QB288 135W kit last night too ;)

Yes super-crop those really tall branches.....You will love the HLG QB's....I am running the HLG 600 QB's and could not be happier with my results so far.

Thanks all. I have supercropped the ones nearest to the lights and it seems to be going ok. I left the ones that are off to the side for now. The flowers have angled up towards the lights but the bend is still healing.

Though I have been having deficiency issues which are mostly affecting leaves to the top. I think it’s a cal deficiency but I’ve been using 1-2mL/L CalMag so I don’t understand why it’s getting worse. Maybe it’s a P-deficiency? Maybe the high intensity of light is also causing this? The leaves near the bottom of the plant are looking pretty healthy.
