Additional info: I've had some issues from the get go with fungus gnats on this go round, they hadn't been that bad, the adults mostly contained with yellow sticky traps, I noticed they were getting a little more prolific so I sprayed a little capt jacks dead bug brew on the soil after a watering. I left for a while and came back to my yellow sticky traps covered in what I think are thrips, I have not seen any thrips on my plants themselves, but after spraying capt jacks they are prolific on the soil surface and about an inch down. My only experience with thrips has been outdoors where they get all over the plants, in this case I'm only seeing them in the soil, on the traps and on the outside of the pots. I put some diatomaceous earth on the soil of one plant to see if it helps, any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. I've read about some folks mixing DE in with their soil at the start, maybe I'll try that on the next round. This is probably my 8th-10th round of autos, but its my first run using all build a soil products and my first run using less water per watering but watering more often to keep the feeder roots happy in the top dress. In terms of over watering my plants have never showed any signs of it, but the pest issue potentially says otherwise. Thanks for reading.

Spray your bug stuff on soil and mix in top two inches of soil and se if this helps.Mix in some diatom im top 2 inches of potting mix and also mix that in.Keep checking to see if this helps.

If needed and it's not near harvesting, you might consider adding a dose of rather harmless insecticide, such as the Capt. Jack's you have or a pyrethrin, to your feed/water. Dose all the media/soil, not just the top inches.

And use a Bt product to prevent insect eggs from hatching in your soil/media.
