Lighting Help buying a new light

I plan on growing 4 autoflowers inside a tent.
They will be in 2 gallon pots with alot of lst.
I am looking for a simple cheap light from start to finish.
I grow as a hobby, so its just fun for me.

I was thinking about 2 300w viparspectra lights.
1 600w viparspectra light
a 400w mh/hps light.

I do know I should be using better lights but when its just a hobby.
I am fine with yield.
I just wanna grow 4 plants from start to finish.

So which of these lights would you suggest
I know the led would run alot cooler.
So 2 300w lights or 1 600w light?

And if your cheap, you don’t want HPS or MH as you won’t like electric bill.

Hello it will be a small tent 31 x 31 x 60 inches. I will be growing in 2 gallon smart pots with coco. I know a hps light would get too hot for that size tent. So i am leaning more too a led light.

Not really cheap. I am growing just as a hobby. So not looking to spend alot on a light. Just a nice light that i can use start to finish with decent results.

Pot or pots - more than one pot? If you’ve got any kinda idea how to grow you’ll barley have enough room for one ..... anyways good luck with that, I’m an organic guy but I’ve seen some monsters in coco .....

For a 31’ square you choices are limited ..... if you want even coverage and have the coin check out MiGro lights .... I won’t post link as they are not a sponsor but you can search ..... I would use two lights ..... otherwise the Optic 1 or Optic 1XL would be fine choices ..... Optic 1 probably best, space is small and Optic 1 is barley hot to touch, I own one but Optic 1XL isn’t much hotter ..... if height is any kind of issue, less than 5.5 feet then Optic 1 best choice.

I’m sorry misread size .... for 31’ by 60” .... ElecticSky ES 300 plus Optic 1 or 1XL for end light .... odd sized space but yea go ES300 plus one or do all individual COB lights like the Optic 1 or Optic 1XL

4 - 3 gallon pots... 4x4 tent... coco... I'm in 16 sq ft, 2.5x2.5, you'll be in about 6 sq ft. For a space that small I'd look at a quantum board in about 130 watts. Wont break the bank, and will outperform the vivaspectras... and 2 plants...

Apologies, LST did not register.... Tou want Electric Sky ES300 for sure or maybe two ES180 and in middle run Optic 1XL ....

With LST light distance and penetration will play BIG Roles ..... Myself, I’d rather invest a tad more and be thrilled with the results rather than say, results are good, flip that I want results that knock my socks off.

Excellent results and the QB Boards are very good choice as well .... QB has a good spread but the Electric Sky ES300 is better than QB but QB wins efficiency rating with some units up to 2.6, HPS ibenchmark at 1.0 btw .....

Fact is there are lots of good choices .... One nice thing for everyone on this plant, our lights are getting more energy efficient.

I would agree with all of the above. Like you said, a quality light... lots of great choices... just don't believe the China lights fall in there...

I'm under DIY cobs, couldn't be beat $ to performance, but DIY LED is a hobby unto itself.

Im under diy cobs as well and my girls love it. If you're not into diy, @BigSm0 sells pre-made cob-based lights called auto cobs that are plug-n-play and reasonably priced. Plus, he has a lot of knowledge about lighting that he's always willing to share. I have a couple of those I use as supplemental lighting for flowering.

Yes i looked into the boards. Its 220.00 for a 135w board.
