Hey guys, first grow and really starting to worry about these two. Made a few mistakes early :(

Both are autoflowers, do they look okay? If not, what should I do? The brown and curved stems don't look good lol

Perfectly normal, healthy looking shoot. What you're seeing is the plants individually controlled pigments, or lack of pigments. In the brief time it emerges, she'll start producing chloroplasts and change colours. I had one that squirmed around like the lock ness monster. Perfectly normal, for both the cotyledons to do this and also for you to fret about it. It shows you care.

Thanks man. The second picture really had me worried because all the sprout pictures I see online are green and big lol

These started germ on 5/16 and we're put into the soil on 5/18

I added some shots from my current Mars TS2000 Test grow. I usually would interfere with the seed but I let her do her thing. In the end she is thicker and more powerful than No. 1.

Edit: actually on closer inspection what you are seeing as brown, is the membrane inside the seed coat, it sometimes sticks to the cotyledons it's tempting to try and remove it but the roots are very delicate and she won't like it, better to keep her humid and she'll just pump it open.

Lmao, the little loch ness. Those pictures give me hope. That's how mine started and the color looks about the same. I see green leaves forming in between the Cotyledons which has to be good

First she has to get start getting some green in the cotyledons but for the first week, she will be concentrating on the roots this is why it's most important not to disturb the soil. The first week is all about the roots, only towards the end of the second week will she move out of slow motion. She won't start growing till the stems begin to fatten. Usually around day 10

Here's the first 7 days of my current Moby Dick XXL, this is typical of what you'll expect for the first week.

Slowly but surely!

one of them has the rots, browned out cotyledons....other looks damaged too,... bottom most seedling is fine,... what are you growing in, that medium looks kinda strange,... peat based?
Damping off is caused by several possible pathogens, usually a moisture/over watering and/or overly high RH% issue,...get me info on that please, and T's....

I'm using 3 gal fabric pots with Kind Soil (water only hot soil) on the bottom and Roots Organic original on top. (2.5lbs KS, some KS with RO mixed about an inch or so in middle, rest RO on top)

73-82F with RH between 45% - 60%

Edit: I had issues with the shells being stuck on the Strawberry Nuggets and Sour Crack for 2 days above soil. Also had issues germinating in toilet paper/DVD case and didn't plant deep enough. I had to gently remove the shells with tooth picks and remove the membrane from the Sour Crack. Pretty sure they would have died if I didn't intervene. Rough start but it looks like progress

The first Walter White died lol, this one was planted directly and the difference shows
