Hi Everyone Great site really stoked to find it and be part of it. I am a Irish grower and I finally got my tenant set up last night Carbon fiber filter Rhino and fan were fitted. It is a meter sq Jardin I have 600w light. The only thing I need to add is a fan and ph pen .I am grow Afghan Kush Ryder 4 plants in 11L pots using BIO BIZZ light mix and BIO BIZZ fed. The plants are 8 days old and ran in to problems in that they got two leggy because my light blew and they spend the first two days growing tall towards the lamp light. But I have got them back and they are looking Fine Now. So I am totally like a little kid looking at my grow room and set up and the plants doing fine. I am getting a bit of noise from the carbon filter and the ballast. I can hear them in my room and the daughter room. Is there any way or something I can buy to lessen the noise?

You could get some ducting on the other end of the fan to quieten the noise. I have a small (2feet) peice of acoustic ducting that gets the noise down to whisper. If you have a really poweful out take fa, you may need to look into getting a silencer for it.
I'd go for the ducting first and get a PH meter with the spare cash ^_^ (the PH meter it one of the most important bits)

Thanks Guys for the welcome and advice.I think Blue i might get the silencer because the rhino carbon filter and fan are on low atm and it is sucking out some air like a strong hover to be honest.The ballast is making the most noise humming away! Good to have follow Irish growers on here! Blue what would i be looking to get to silencer model etc?
I don't have a silencer - just some ducting for me as my fan is not too noisey.
A good AFN friend of mine uses them though and he has told me the following
Most grow shops that sell filters will sell noise reducers too. try Growell, don't think they have any shops in Ireland but can be got by mail order - just make sure you know what size the fitting is 4. 6, or 8 inch.
.. as for the ballast - i'd be concerned if it were that noisey, i've only had one and it doesnt make any real noise - maybe someone else can chime in on this.
