hello all, im currently awaiting my first AF seeds as we speak. and ive never grown in this manner let alone any other many. but i do have a couple friends that grow hydro but never used an af so i turn to you the experts or guys that simply know more than i. ive done some reading and question asking from grow friends. im going to be using nirvana short rider fems. so far i have narrowed soil down to biobizz all mix light mix. and fox farms nuts. light sched from start to finish ive found 20/4 gets the most out of af. thinking about 2qal pots. i dont want to go really eloborate on lights and stuff just yet so based on wht ive said here or wht you guys could suggest im open to anything to make this first grow happen and then spend some real cash maybe later. im growing inside my house as its safer and want to start 2 plants at once or should i just go one at a time until i learn. plz help lol

Hey there and welcome to AFN. You'll love it here for sure. Sounds like you've done some research and have a pretty good start. Two or so is good for starters or even fewer. Don't do what I did and get five different strains until you know what you're doing. They all act and grow differently and take nutes differently so it's somewhat tricky to keep them all at optimum levels when you have several different kinds. SO stick to one for now, and you are, so good. Good luck!

Hi there, welcome to AFN I'm new on here. Just started my first ever grow just one plant under a 325watt cfl in my bedroom closet.. I had no knowledge except what I had read and learnt from this site. Its a great site with a lot of great ppl willing to help us learners lol. So enjoy the grow and if your stuck just shout up and I'm sure there will be sum one there waiting to help. Gud luck

thanks ive actually got some blue dream growing now but it was just a seed i had but im trying to help her grow until my af seeds come in. she sprouted on the 15th of this month using miracle grow organic mix just to kinda get a feel for it. so far its day 4 and each day is fun like xmass lol. i have it under 85watt twisty light im sure its prob a cfl tho 18/4 for now until i kill it or it dies

Just wanted to say that it is recommended to stay away from all MiracleGrow products. They have way too many nutrients for AFs and will burn your plants up. You need a nutrient free or near free seed starting mix for the first few weeks.

Welcome to the forum. I think two plants are good to get started with, especially if they are both the same strain. You might consider using a little bigger pots, about 3 gallon if you have enough room. Does make a good bit of difference in how big they get and your final yield. Soil and nutes sound good.
