Hello all, I've just moved to Kentucky from South Florida, started to grow a couple autos outdoors, and the bugs decided they liked my best plant more than I did. I got discouraged and decided to try my luck inside. I've been reading posts on this forum for months, and learning from everyone else's experience. So thank you all for that. I've grown several photos over the years in FL, but have never tried autos until now. Bought the buddha auto mix from Herbies, and dropped them in HappyFrog/perlite/Ocean Forest/Dolomite/compost mix. Bought a somewhat generic 4'x4'x8' tent (that same tent everyone sells, they just change the name to protect the innocent...), 2 Mars Hydro 700W LED's hanging from the yoyo thingies, the FoxFarm trio, CaMg+, Bush Doctor, Open Sesame, and another FF bloomer (can't remember which one without walking out to my outbuilding where I do my mad scientist mixing, and I have my aquarium pumps bubbling my rainwater). Don't use everything at once obviously, just seeing what works best for me. I am using 5 gallon smart pots (tan fabric). Bought a 400cfm fan for exhaust, sucking through a 6x16 Phresh carbon filter. Didn't trust hanging it, so I made a frame from 2x4s and plywood.

I have my lights on an 18/6 schedule, and am growing in my room with an ambient air temp of 74 degrees in the room, about 80 in the tent. Also bought a small humidifier for inside the tent to keep about 40% humidity. The pic in my avatar is one of my autos, in fact the one the bugs kinda munched on, and should be ready in the next month or so...Kinda crowded tent right now, as I got excited and couldn't stop throwing seeds in soil. (there are worse problems to have, I know) Next round I'll only do 4 or 5 at a time.
The natural light photo was taken with the LEDs ON, shooting through my new Method Seven LED glasses. These things are WAY cool, and they save your eyes. I've just received an order through the Vault of Dutch Passion AutoDurban Poison, DP AutoBlackberry Kush, Femaleseeds Auto AK, Femaleseeds Auto Critical, Seedsman Auto Skunk #1, Royal Queen Special Kush #1, RQ Special Queen #1, and Greenhouse Seeds Super Critical Auto. LOVE the guys at the Vault. Check out my review at the discount thread...

Hi Doug
Welcome to the forums here at AFN :)

It looks like your research has been paying off, nice job there and great pictures too.

When your ready , start a grow journal in the new growers section, where there is always a helping hand not to far away.

Let me give you a link - New Growers Forum just click thew link and your there.

Your journal is your base of operations where you can ask any questions about your grow and keeps all the info about your grow in one handy to find place.

The forums are a wonderful place to find out everything auto and the members are fantastic, lending a hand whenever needed.

Ask as many questions as you need, we were all new to growing at some point and we love to help new growers to get on the right track.

It may be possible to change you the white balance on your camera as an added tool to take pictures in a more natural looking light, your glasses sound cool. Check your camera manual for White Balance

I look forward to your journal and seeing you in the forums

Hey Doug,

That Buddha mix is just the best. I bought a pack also. A great intro into Auto seeds. You got a good setup there pal. Welcome to AFN and I wish you all the best. Happy growing, eP.

Yeah, I had a perfect 100% germ rate (but killed a couple with my stupidity). The one in front that's budding up only popped through soil on May 8. So that puts it at like 51/52 days, any guesstimate on how long I should let it go? I bought a 100x magnifier, but it's a pain in the butt. Trichomes are all clear still, but getting brownish hairs on the buds...sticky, smelly, yummy looking. Getting impatient.
Was looking at Tang 's thread and pics on his Durban Poison. Man that dude can grow some pretty bud.
