hey folks looking for some help for outdoor strain selection for grow next summer.

about my climate
last chance of frost is June 10th, first chance of frost is Sept 15. Hot days and cold nights with high humidity , high winds, powerful storms and rain downpours, hail , 3000ft elevation , same latitude as Seattle .

looking for AF strain I can start a month early in say a 1 gal container , then move outside come June and have finish by early September.

The super autos look very promising for this, but I have no experience with AF. in my location the photos veg to gigantic monsters only to die of hard frost before anything ever really develops.

looking for something that won't get to big, but still not be some little 3 joint runt. 3-4 footers be nice, So a guy could have a half dozen or so plants and meet his supply needs for the year.

Thanks for your time and input , and happy growing

Hey
There is many early finishing photo strains available there days..just takes awhile to fid them. I personally think BC seedking would fit the bill.(I grew out a pack and consistently got sept 15th-20th finishers yielding from 1/4lb to 1lb15z depending on condition) You should have no problems finding strains that will finish in time.

thanks I'll have to check it out. I've tried what appears to be mostly indica types (never really knew what it was, random good bagseed,)

from what I've experienced here ,even the most indica dominate phenos just start budding here by mid august. the temps here start falling sharply by the end of august, with highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's.

Hey bud, welcome to AFN!
I was thinking you might want to try some of the semi autos, they wont auto flower but they flower very early and quickly due to there being ruderallis in them. Sensible seeds has some that I was looking at for this year, there are plenty more out there... If you were to take a good male auto and cross it with your favorite photo the first generation would be semi auto and exhibit some fast flowering traits.

This was one I was eying from the Sensible seed bank for a mountaintop grow:

"Female Seeds Maroc Outdoor Feminized
Female Seeds Maroc Outdoor Semi Autoflower Feminized

Maroc Outdoor Semi Auto Flower by Female Seeds flowering starts mid-July in Holland. Buds smell like Ketama, are long and slender with an open structure. Unfortunately it needs the Moroccan climate and soil-type too, to get the pure Ketama taste. But instead of this pure Ketama taste the European version develops an enormous aromatic smell so special that you can’t resist the smell of it – not to mention the smoke!

The best sowing time is mid April to mid May. We wouldn't recommend pre-growing them indoors, because they are semi-auto-flowering and this would cause them to start flowering in May outdoors. They need the longer days and intensive midsummer sun to keep them in growth."

That may be an option..

Really I was hoping a 100 day give or take AF would do the trick..most of the usable growing season here is under 18 hours of daylight..from mid June to early Sept.. ...but there really is not much info on the new super auto types...

Be nice to be flowering under the oppressive summer sun here.

Is there some really good info on these 100 plus day SAF's?

Hey rcmc seedbank has many strains that are august finishers, though I have not personally grown them, I bet @StickMan can help you out with some specifics. Guerilla Gold #3 sounds like it would fit the bill for you.
Climate...if your plants are big and healthy a bit of light frost wont hurt 'em, or at least they don't hurt mine into oct up here in central Canada.

I'll have snow by October lol

Maybe it'll be better to just to the greenhouse route and grow whatever strains I want
