New Grower Heavyweight fast & vast questions

Hello guys, newbie here

I am on week 2 of a grow, doing heavyweight fast & vast in NFT.

I came across this when i was researching: https://www.autoflower.org/f44/life-cycle-auto-flowering-cannabis-5113.html & it has totally changed how i planned to approach my feeding.

Everything there makes sense, but I'm concerned that HFV may be ready as quick as the breeder claims & be done in 8 weeks...meaning that if i wait till week 5 before giving flower nutes, then i won't have chance to use Big bud/overdrive (both of those require 2 weeks use each) & then a week flush on top.

I say this because based on Muddys experience: "Weeks 4 - 6. The plants are now entering a pre flowering stage." but i am already seeing pistils in week 2!

Obviously i want to harvest at the peak time (based on trichromes - flushing once i see the first signs of amber) but i also want to get the best from them in terms of yield!

This also fits in with when to switch my dimmable ballast to 100%? I would do this on photoperiod after 'the stretch' or when i see preflowers but as stated i am seeing preflowers now after just 2 weeks!

Any help/advice welcome.

I have three F&V going now on day 20 nothing showing yet this is my first auto grow under a 400 watt LED

I am growing in soil all organic so not sure if its normal or not.

Hello and welcome. If you head over to the intro section and introduce your self that would be great and it will help you also because you can post a link to this thread in there. From what I see in the pictures I am not seeing per flowers. When u say pistol do you mean between the node spaces? If so that was them showing sex. it is still early for per flowering.

The breeders make a comment that it may finish in 8 weeks, but in reality, they may take up to 11-12 to get the most out of your auto!! If you take it in the breeders time frame, your yield will deminish. Most autos take 70-80 days, unless you want them earlier. Also autos trichomes dont amber up alot, toward the end, so you have to let the leaves tell you when it's time to harvest. Go by the guide Muddy says,

i have 4 fast and vast at day 44 under 2 x 300 watt led and a 600 watt hps with added co2 growin in 5 gal pots with coco and perlite , and they are monsters !!! they start off slow and then go nuts by day 30 odd. 2 have just started going into full flower and the other 2 are just starting there stretch (about 4 inches a day at the moment!! they will take at least 11 to 12 weeks before ready for harvest. expecting minumum 5 to 6 oz off each plant

Awesomeness budman! And gooba, research ive done and grows of fast and vast Ive read points that they are 70-80 day plants. Mines at like 60 and the side branches still got lots of white hairs coming out. Thought they were about done but checked with a sober eye and nope. Still prob gonna start flushing this friday. If u search fast and vast in the title onpy there is a 2 grows frim a guy named xzibit and he has 2 grows on there with fast and vast. U used his grow and based my feedings and stuff off that. And im sorry, but I know I spelled his name weong. My appologies.

Because i know i'll have at least 5 weeks to play with in terms of feeding bloom nutes, then that means i can stick to the same regime as my photoperiods.

Meaning: 2 weeks of bloom nutes/big bud followed by 2 weeks of bloom nutes/overdrive, before flushing for 7 days minimum.

They're starting to shoot up now! Week 3 starts tomorrow
