So, after harvesting my MONSTER crop from Xp-1, my 1st photo grow, I've decided to take the leap into some breeding. In breeding to be exact. Pictures to follow. Below is a list of items I gathered to begin this little project. Going in, it seems like the timing is going to be the most difficult to get correct. Making sure I have enough viable CS when I need to begin spraying and making sure I have viable pollen when the time is right.

A few Himalaya Blue Diesel plants to choose from to do a full CS reversal (Herbie's)
A couple 12 or 14 gauge (I have 14, I think) lengths of 99.99% pure silver wire (eBay)
A recommended power source with a couple alligator clip ends
(I found that I own a 12v 1000Ma plug in transformer that oddly already had the alligator clip ends, no idea where I got such a thing)
A small air pump with hose (any old aquarium pump, I don't suggest using old tubing because of contamination)
A glass jar
Distilled water (steam distillation)
A TDS ppm meter (eBay cheapie)

So far I have germed a couple HBD beans and am currently running a batch of homebrew CS to be certain that I have it down/enough when the time comes to begin spraying. Best research says at first sign of preflower begin spraying new growth and nodes 3x day max 1x day min. I will further research this before time comes.

Anyone who has had success with this PLEASE feel free to chime in. Esp. if I am effing something up.

Should be a fun process. After this hopefully successful seed run, I am going to make a few crosses with HBD.

After 9 hrs of bubbling my CS generator, the TDS meter is reading 8ppm. After further research a TDS meter is not really the best instrument to determine the silver colloid content of a solution. Unfortunately, only expensive tests on super expensive lab equipment are accurate. I think we can come close though. By basically doubling your ppm on the TDS pen meter and kind of verifying via the Tyndall effect by using a laser, I think will get us a solution that will work for our purposes. I wouldn't drink the stuff myself, people do. Hopefully, I can tweak the process such that it does not take 9 hrs. I am thinking thicker wire, a slower or less powerful transformer. I am going to try the 3 9 volt battery method next.

O wouldn't worry about the time it takes. Your already using more voltage than needed. By what I understand, the higher the voltage, the larger the silver particles you will have, but what you want is small particles that the leaves can actually absorb. You want 6 volts preferably, 9 volts will work. !2 volts is likely too much. space the wire about 1 inch apart. The wider the gap, the bigger the particles also.

Here is a good guide to CS: https://www.autoflower.org/f117/definitive-colloidal-silver-tutorial-9878.html

I changed transformers to a 9v 600Ma plug in. Last I checked I was at 18ppm. As I am nowhere near having a plant ready to reverse this is kind of a trial run. I'm not sure the solution will keep that long, but I'll hold onto it. I do have a black JH plant that will be ready well before either HBD... hmmm Black JH x HBD cross? Both autofem's.

I am shooting for 35-40 ppm read on the meter. This way if it is nearly correct I'm ok and if it double the reading I'm running 70-80 ppm which is alot but not enough to be fatal. I will also gauge how the plant responds to the spray as to how strong it is as well as how quickly/slowly the change happens.

Ended up with a 34ppm solution on the TDS meter. Hopefully its somewhere between there and 70ish ppm.

TDS isn't the best method, but it can be used. The first 10 ppm go much more slowly than the rest. The higher the ppm, the faster it rises.
The Tyndall effect works best tho.
Keep your wires clean throughout the production as well.

If you are using a higher voltage, just space the wires out a bit more. It'll take longer, but it stays cleaner as well.

The HBD beans both had a centimeter long taproot and were ready to be planted. I didn't F around with small pots this time, right into their permanent homes (hopefully). Names came quickly to these plants-
Ama Lakpa will be Mom and Nanda Devi will be reversed. Himalayan names. These are my 4th and 5th plants, 3rd and 4th auto. My 1st auto, La Ferrari is on day 47 (La Diva), #2-Jacqueline, is Black JH and is on day 14. I am contemplating reversing Jacky and crossing her with Ama Lakpa. then reverse Nanda Devi and sit on the pollen while I germ 2 more HBD beans. Pick the best for a seed run and smoke the other. I dunno, still undecided. I wish I had a sample of a mostly sativa and a mostly indica so that I could figure out which one sits best with me. Guess if I breed Jacky and in breed HBD for seed runs, I'll have both for a long while.

Oct. 31st is officially the breeder twins birthday! By C section I became the Father of twin HBD girls. These girls are meant for a purpose as one will be pollinated with Black JH for seed and the other will herself be reversed to pollinate a 3rd as yet unborn HBD for a supply of HBD F1 seed, WoofuckinHoo!! Love it when a plan comes together.20141031_223000.jpg20141031_222828.jpg20141031_222452.jpg

I'm a proud dad today too bro!
An auto Durban that will go through a sex change, got to live with your time!
Looks like we're starting the same project on the same time, let's rock it man

Ha, right on man! look forward to comparing notes!
