My own shit, thanks to places like this!
There are a few questions embedded in this post, not just the headline. I am truly curious in your experience in harvesting early - no matter the reason.

First off, I've got myself into a possible jam, and I want to have the right mindset before I put in all this time and money.

Understand, I have already started. So, I am asking this in real time, not just theoretical.

Background/Setup: I signed up for the Real Grower Grow Competion 2022. The premise is simple, grow only using Grow Dots and Recharge as the Core ingredients.

You can supplement, although I am sure the fairest way would not to use other brands of Microbes because Recharge. Even so, I am in Coco, so I know I'll have to keep extra Calcium on the ready.

Anyway, my wife and I leave for a cruise at the end of September, which would average about 77 days for the plants if the clock starts today.

More specifically, I have a Super Skunk auto (Seedstockers) that is about 5 days above ground (so 82 days before chop).

I also, have one Mephisto Double Grape with a half inch taproot that I just covered this am, and one other that should show taproot by tomorrow.

Sorry for the long build up, but here are my questions:

I know that clear trichomes can mean a more "head" high, but is that always true?

Should I make these plants into oils instead of smoking weed?

Or should I say, WTF, a little psycho high ever so often can be a fun time too?

Bottomline: Am I growing something that I will regret if I chop too early, or is it USABLE, just not ideal?

What are your experiences with harvesting earlier than you wanted do to life situations, etc.?

No matter what, I'm going to go ahead and do this grow, if not for anything of than the time to work on my photography. I'm addicted to growing and shooting pictures.

Thanks for getting this far in a TLDR series of questions.

I think you may just be in parameters for descent harvest. Autos can be quick so chances are those tricombs may be milky by the time you get there.

There is a product you can use called Winter Frost bt new millennium nutes. You may have heard of it if you know of DGC and Real Growers.
Use that about 3 to 2 weeks before you want to chop and it will help them to finish when you want them to.

I'm sure it's not breaking the rules as it one of there main sponsors for the DGC:crying:and Scotty is best freinds Jerard (think that's his name) from new millennium

How well does that really work? I see it's not even recommended for commercial use. Used by itself in the last few weeks alone before the flush. I wish they started exactly what it really does aside from starving plants the last week or so.

It tricks the plant in thinking there has been a frost so It put its energy into finishing. There us definitely an Increase in turps and tricombs production.
You don't have to stop feeding or flush thats a personal grow option.
I've been using it for the past 2 yrs at the start if week 8 (strain dependant). I definitely helps different strains finish up at thd same time.
As small bottle will last long time.

Outdoors grows get pulled early for tons of reasons. You'll might be fine, just not ideal. Really depends on the plants as lots of them go 90+ days. Why not set up a drip system? Pretty cheap and easy to make and you'd just have to fill a reservoir before you left and they grow themselves at that age

Mostly clear trichs can result in a too short effect with very little sedation, so that could make an easy daytime weed. In sativa-dom. an early cut can cause an bad head high, paranoia and such.
Maybe try before you leave, then decide.

I'd love to know the science behind that. Guess I'll email them.
