Harvest & Curing harvest side flowers

my blooms are starting to turn now. But some of my side buds have completely turned should i harvest the side buds or wait untill the main bud is ready.

Okay, that helps. To decide when to harvest, we usually don't go by pistil color we go by trichrome color.

The red hairs are pistils, as you know. The little crystal looking things are the trichromes. Trichromes start clear and progress to milky then amber. When harvested with clear trich's you get a head high with very little body stone. As the colors progress the high goes more toward "couch lock". Some, if not most, auto's do not progress into the amber stage.

On a lot of auto strains the trics won't change to amber but will go cloudy and stay there. I harvest when all the primary and secondary fan leaves have died off and the bud leaves are turning yellow. If you go by the color of the pistols you will likely harvest before the plants reach their full potential.
