Hi everyone . Im on my first indoor grow although I have several outdoor grows under my belt.
I only use my plants as a way to unwind an hour or two before bed and to help me sleep ( as an added benefit it certainly improves sex !) so I have tended to grow only indicas and wait until i have 30% amber trichomes and even then my summer grows can last me until next autumn so they tend to be CBN heavy after a while.
Id like to know what are peoples opinions on how much difference the trichome development has on the effects of the plant vs the gentics. For example would a fresh Indica with 90% milky trichomes be more mellow than an aged Sativa with heavy amber trichomes?

I think the chemotype, (make up of the terpenes and flavonoids present within that phenotype of the strain) will determine the type of high you feel from it. Certain Terps can have a huge effect on how the high reacts with you.

The age of the cannabinoids will change the way the high feels, more amber, usually does equate to a stronger sedative effect.

So I think the answer is a combination of both.

Interesting. About the terpenes, aren't those just scents, like limonene smells after lemons?

they are, but they also effect the way that your body reacts with the cannabinoids.

the same strain fresh is way more effective than comparing said strain, but now old and dried up.
