I have indoor auto with 5 gal. root trapper and kindsoil.
I need to find a top medium base from menards or lowes. can you help me choose something that will work from these stores?
I purchased menards product called ,premier peat moss organic growing, label says maximizes water retention. I was told don't use this.
I don't think buying enough coco loco through mail order would be affordable. so im trying to find something in a local big box store.
thanks for any help

I have been using ProMix I found at Menards. I was at Lowes yesterday and could not find any. I have been watering and feeding at Ph 6.5 and just checked my medium is at Ph 6.8

Btw I am only using the ProMix and Lowes had mostly Miracle grow product or generic brand or just plain peat moss. I did not even see Vermiculite so I could mix my own.

thanks for helping. I seen that pro mix, but ended up buying that one I mentioned. im going to return it. I called both lowes and menards they don't have anything, web sights don't offer anything. I broke down and paid $35 with shipping for one bag coco loco.

I buy all my peat and perlite at Menards if it is in stock. Schultz brand. Avoid anything with moisture retention or fertilizer until you know from an experienced user who has used it about it. But since no experienced gardener usues any of that stuff there is no one to ask about it. I buy epsoma potting soil from True Value if you have one near. I order online and pick it up at store. I mix it 1 bag (16qts) soil 1 bag (8qts) peat 1 bag (8qts) perlite. Not sure what your mix is and what it needs, but that's all I use.

Home Depot has that black magic hydro type products and mixes. I was surprised to see that
