Hello All,
These two beauties are "High Steaks" by Green work Seeds, a cross of (f) "Tyrone's Purps" (Menage a Tyrone x Deep Sea Creature) x (m)"Dairy Drunk" (Chaze x Deep Sea Creature). These were freebies the came with a previous purchase (Berry 47 x Deep Sea Creature). They were a bit old (and it's super chilly) so I anticipate that had something to do with the 2/6 above soil ratio. Hoping for a male and female to make more seeds, both together and with the (6) Twenty20 Triks going at the moment. Auto seeds for the greenhouse this spring/summer....and so it begins....Thanks for taking a peek.

Freaky leaf on one of the High Steaks

A few days ago I noticed some yellowing of the leaves on one of the plants. I popped this one out of its 32 oz yogurt container and it had a good 1/2" root mass at the bottom, so I decided on a re-pot. Here are photos of the two after that re-pot and a day or so under a 40 w HLG veg light instead of the 600 w RSpec, they (one more-so) seemed to have responded nicely by greening back up, with only a bit of residual effect. They also both have shown their sex, one of each. I'd say this was best case scenario come true. Now I can make f2's as well as pollinate the 6 Twenty20 Triks females.

First two are male High Steaks, next two are the female

These have taken very nicely to the re-potting from 32 oz/1L to 3L containers. Roots are already bursting from the holes on the bottom where there is plenty of new media. I was informed by the breeder, one of the parents of the male used, Chaze, was a 'superauto'. Unfortunately he passed some photoperiodism (about 20%) to the progeny. Soooooo, fingers are crossed that these plants are indeed autoflowers. Also has me wondering how much concern I should have in future generations after selecting away from this and/or how much concern I should have about it being recessive in future generations. I just sexed them both a few days ago, so we shall see how things develop over the next couple weeks. I have seen the male used in both mother and father of this cultivar, so I'm hoping things work out. A male High Stakes could be a great addition to green autos as he would likely add color and perhaps even resin as the Deep Sea Creature was quite resinous (especially for a male), and he makes up 50% of this cross (with color elsewhere genetically as well). The females I have tasted in this line up were earthy & hashy not grapey in flavor.

Day 23 from breaking soil

HLG 600 RSpec
Custom blend media (peat based), 3G containers
73F/50%

I have one confirmed MALE, and another still questionable (M/F). I'm suspecting the questionable plant is a photo-period male from the Chaze 'superauto' genetics as Green Works (the breeder) suggested may happen.

I have also re-potted the 3 liter containers into 3 gallon smart pots.

I guess we'll wait and see...

Day 30 from breaking soil

Soooooo....here's the scoop on these two males, yes... both males. One appears to be an auto flower, the other is a photoperiod (ala Chaze 'superauto' genetics). Both are very odiferous, smelling of hash and dark chocolate. I'm hoping to get a bit of resin and perhaps some color on this male, like his grandfathers before him had (Deep Sea Creature was very resinous and purple.) Looks as though I'll be collecting pollen and pollinating soon. This will be used to pollinate (6) Triks autos as well as a CBD 20:1 auto by Fast Buds, followed by a few other auto females such as Pink Panama, Skywalker, Samsquatch, and Super Orange Haze by Mephisto and Critical 2.0 XL bred by Garden of Green. (my upcomming round of flowers). Fun stuff, thanks for looking. There should be plenty of seeds for greenhouse fun this summer.
