Hello AFN,

I've been growing autos for about a year now. Had a couple journals elsewhere, but decided to come to a community as dedicated to autos as I am. I have a few photo freebies, and thought about growing them out before I start up autos again. However, the speed at which autos grow makes me less impatient on a seed order to arrive.

With that in mine, I present my seed order from Herbies Autoflower Shop:
3x Flash/LBH Sour Diesel Haze (I picked these for my head stash meds)
3x Advanced BioDiesel Mass (My wife picked these for her neuropathy meds)
3x Samsara Supersonic Crystal Storm (I picked this because I <3 hash!)
3x
Delicious Il Diavolo (Because Herbies gave them to me)

I will be growing 1x SDH with 1x BDM first, then 1x SCS with 1x ID. After these 2 grows are complete in 4-5 months, I'll decide how many of what to grow next. If one strain appears much smaller, I may try to sneak it in with 2 other plants, for 3 total. Just hoping I get relative uniformity in these strains. They all come highly recommended, even the freebies, but we shall see!

My setup is as follows:
Tent - 2'x2'x4.5' - so small, I know :o
Light - California Lightworks Solar Flare 200w Full Cycle
Fan - 700 (I think) CFM w/ can style carbon filter
Pots - 10" 3 gallon
Soil - Foxfarm Ocean Forest & Chunky Perlite - 2:1
Nutrients - Foxfarm Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom, also just bought some Ca/Mg, and I MAY get some Grow Big too, but not sure I need it with soil as hot as hell itself! :twist:

If you have an LED, do yourself a favor and get some extra Ca and Mg to those plants!
Personal experience has already shown me that they need it for some reason under LED. Has to be related to spectrum and morphology, but I'm no botanist. Other than needing the nutrient supplements, these lights are performing better, with less energy and heat than the CFL setup I was using. Also, I know the fan is WAY more than I need, but it works well, and I'll still be able to use it when I get a bigger tent.

At any rate, that's 12 seeds at 2 per grow and 2 months per grow, which means they'll all be gone about a year from the first germination.

That's about it! Waiting on seeds to arrive, and AFN will get weekly updates with pics for about the next year or so! See you back here when my seeds are in the peat starter plugs! (again, hot soil):firedevil:

Great job by Herbies Autoflower Shop for getting them to me in 7 days! I have dealt with them, Attitude, and Nirvana, and they all delivered very quickly and safely. Nirvana's genetics, however, are another matter!

On seed packaging, I have to give it to Advanced! They use a similar pack to Flash, just with a smaller card. SamSara has the nicest packaging, but it's so large that it could make stealth more difficult. I may post a pic of the opened SamSara pack. It's HUGE!

At any rate, the seeds are in the peat, and should be pocking their heads up Monday or Tuesday. Sour Diesel Haze in the upper left and BioDiesel Mass in the lower middle, for now. Probably will grow the haze on the right when I get them in pots, just because I have a bit more space on that side. My tent is so small that I have my fan and filter on the outside of the tent. I pull the air through a pre-filter to the fan, then the fan is connected to the carbon filter and blows into it.

I can post pics of this if anyone cares to see. Also, any questions, just ask. I'll do my best to answer or point you in a direction. Maybe not the right one, but a direction nonetheless! ;)

Off to the races!

Sorry for not updating sooner, it's been busy around here lately.

Had some problems with my 1st Sour Diesel Haze. It never sprouted!

After an extra day, I went carefully digging for it. I found it had fallen into an air pocket, and was now twice as deep as originally planted. So, I exposed the top of the seed, and gave it an extra day to push itself out. No luck! It didn't move at all!

So, I planted a new one directly in soil, and it popped up 3 days later. This one is now a week behind the BioDiesel Mass. Here are some pics of the early SDH progress:

Now, onto the BDM. It's doing great!

And here's a shot of the two together:

I'll try to update again with a new pic that shows the BDM has now grown bigger than the pot!

Bummer!

Well, I was hoping that by delaying an update that I could show off two plants in flower, and some great bud pr0n. However, the Sour Diesel Haze has disappointed me once again.

HIS flowers looked like this:

Very sad news, indeed. I was looking forward to the SDH most of all. I now only have 1 of my 3 seeds remaining, and they are obviously not feminized like they say they are. Also surprised that the 1st one failed in my peat plugs, as that has been my most successful germination method. These pics are from 7-13.

However, the Biodiesel Mass is doing great! This pic is from 7-14. I've been trying to lightly bend her branches to take up most of the tent. Looks like I'll only be growing 1 plant this time. I'll post another pic in a few hours. She is much bigger than this in only 6 more days! I accidentally bent a branch a bit too much trying to train her, so I used something to tie it closer to the main stem for a few days. I think it will heal. You might be able to see that in the next update.

Feminized does not mean guaranteed female It just means their is a much greater chance of getting a female. That's why they are called feminized seeds and not female seeds.

Five weeks down, five to go!

Actually feminized is defined as: Induce female sexual characteristics in (a male). If the female plant is treated to produce pollen, then that pollen should be unable to create male flowers. However, if pollen from a male lands on the plant, then, yes, I can see where you might get some male seeds. I could also see this happening if a female was treated and later hermied. Some of that pollen would produce males and hermies as well. I've been growing for a while, I know how it works. Thanks for the input, though.

Now, onto the promised update. These pics are from today, Sunday, July 21st, 2013. This is the start of week six. Five down, five weeks to go!

I'll get her out of the tent and into natural light in a few days for some better pics. Just want that branch to heal before I move it too much.

Here are pics from near the end of week 7, day 48. The discoloration on the leaf edges appears to be a manganese deficiency. This was caused by overfeeding magnesium. I will be cutting my use of CaMg+ by 1/2 for future grows.

Checked the trichomes, and much to my surprise I have 5% amber, 55% cloudy and 40-ish still clear. Some of the fans have turned and fallen already. I processed those into ISO hash, and was amazed at the yield from just these leaves.

I will probably be pulling this at 60 days rather than 70, on Wednesday the 14th. Judging from my past grows I'm predicting 2 solid ounces from this very short, but branched out gal! I did some training by hand so that she nearly fills my tent all by herself. Quite the opposite of what I do when growing 2-3 in there. The smell is classic diesel, and am glad I have a carbon filter! Can't wait to try her out! The next update will more than likely be harvest pics in 10 days!

Harvest!

Well, folks, the Biodiesel Mass is done!

This pic is from 8-9-2013, day 55. I then left the plant in darkness for 3 solid days.

This is what I chopped down on 8-13, day 59.

View attachment 260644
I then hung it in the tent...

Here is a shot of the main cola on 8-14. Yes, I know it was only hung for 1 day, but the 3 days in darkness really helped that along. Also, it was in need of watering when I cut the lights, and it's been very hot here. The heat being the main reason I don't turn on my PC to update as often as I'd like. PC is in the grow room, and can't be moved.

Here we have the harvest! 79.5g mostly dry, and that doesn't include the main cola! I got over 3 ounces on this beauty, and I'm hoping she cures up to bring back that awesome scent from week 6!

This is my biggest auto so far, and if she smokes as fine as I think she will, then I'll be growing it again! If I don't get something amazing out of this batch of seeds, then I feel I'll have to go back to photo strains. I hope to have the Supersonic Cristal Storm and La Frutta di Venus in the ground tonight! I also hope to have some subscribers now that the bud pr0n is posted! ;)

I'll update again when the next 2 pop their heads out!
Peace and love,
Da Grassy Gnoll
